Beautiful Views

Went in August and there was no one else at the campsite. Walked in to the site at the top with a beautiful view of the lake below and the mountains. Site came with a fire place. Plenty of room for lots of people. And sites are well spread out. Restrooms took a little bit of a hike to get to - so I don’t recommend any late night bathroom trips. Visitor center was only a 5 minute drive if we needed anything.

Beautiful high mountain lake with State Park camp sites

Well Managed, well patrolled set of camp sites around one of the largest lakes in western Colorado. Our site was 209 which was a pull-in site with fire ring and picnic table. We felt it was relatively private with the surrounding aspens trees and flowering foliage. This was pretty good for the 3-day Memorial Day weekend which had almost every site reserved.

Lots of mosquitos but a good experience

The lake is really pretty and lots of fish were pulled out. Each person made their bag limit on trout. The sites were spacious. It's a bigger campground but there were tons of wildlife. We could see where something had made a bed for the night in one part. There are trails to walk. It's pretty but popular.

Well kept park, limited activities

I love the area and the park is well kept, but other than camping there limited activities in the park itself, so you might end up driving out of the park to do other things. On the plus side the cows nearby softly moo in the background.
