Military sounds from nearby Fort Carson and NORAD punctuate the atmosphere at this elevated campground on Cheyenne Mountain's slopes. Gobbler Grove features 6-7 sites with full hookups accommodating RVs up to 50 feet, most positioned to overlook Colorado Springs below. The concrete pads provide level parking with picnic tables, though campers should prepare for a steep 8-9% grade access road spanning about 1.5 miles.
The camper services building houses coin-operated showers, laundry facilities, and restrooms, while the park offers hiking trails ranging from prairie grasslands to evergreen forests. Cell service remains strong due to proximity to town, though wind can intensify during spring and fall seasons. For tent camping options, Swift Puma Heights Campground — Cheyenne Mountain State Park provides dedicated loops nearby.
