San Lorenzo Park

Free for veterans. There is an interesting farm machinery graveyard here beside what looks like maybe an old and no longer used King City train station building (no actual train). Spots are easy to get in and out of. It was so quiet, I didn't want to break the silence by starting my engine to leave!

I was greeted by a friendly and helpful camp host. There were lots of open spaces and I had the option of driving around to choose. I could imagine it might lack privacy during busier times as the spots are very close to each other, but for my December visit it felt quite spacious.

The only drawback is having to pay $50 when I don’t need hookups. Wish there was a no hookup option.

Very nice County Park. Not busy when we were here. Bike/walking trail. Nice trees. Level spots with water and electric. Just off 101 but no highway noise.

Essentially deserted. Just us and one other camper. Very quiet from other campers, but can hear gentle highway 101 traffic in distance. Amazing farm machinery museum display. Restrooms are fine even have showers. No privacy between sites. Paved sites are on 35 foot spacing. Grass spots are a bit further apart. Might try something around site 80ish. If all sites were occupied this would be very crowded. Then again, it is a convenient stop between Los Angeles and San Francisco.

What a find! Mostly level, mostly gravel and grass, mostly pull through sites. Water, and 30 amp and 12 V available. Not sure about 50 amp. Good cell service, bathrooms, showers and a dump station round out the on-site conveniences. Firings and picnic tables with a choice of well-shaded or solar-friendly sites. A nice walking path, circles the campground and is well used in the mornings and evenings by locals running or walking dogs and babies. The first half of the park has a rustic agriculture, museum, and lots of old farm equipment on display. There are also spaces to rent for parties and events with their own parking area separate from the campground. King City has grocery, gas, some restaurants and some shops just outside of the park.

Nice green park with lots of partial (water + electric) $50 and full (water + electric + sewer) $55 sites. Lots of trees for shade. Bathrooms are very clean and there are also showers. The day use park also seems nice. You can hear the 101 but it’s not bad at all. You can pay with cash, check or cc. The water tastes very good.

Only downside for us is that all sites were hookups and that there are no primitive sites for rv’s.

Beautiful out-of-the-way park halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Lots of green space lots of room for kids to play full hook ups available .bathrooms are neat and clean. There is a nice free museum. It’s a county park reasonable rates $25 a night. Unfortunately it’s closed till 2021 due to COVID-19.

A friend and I stayed here for a night while heading south on the I5. Super interesting campground, bathrooms seemed clean, had showers, hookups, decently tidy campground. They have an agricultural museum there. Which would have been cool to actually spend some time and check out but we just saw the 100+ tractors and agricultural equipment on the way in and out of there.
