Westport Beach RV Park and Campground provides full hookup sites with water, electric, and sewer connections for RVs along the Mendocino coastline. The park features spacious back-in sites that accommodate larger rigs, though pull-through options may be limited. "Almost every spot seemed to be pretty nice. Pull throughs seemed a little tight, but all back-ins were spacious," noted one camper. Harbor RV Park in Fort Bragg offers year-round RV camping with full hookups including water, electric, and sewer, though fires are not permitted at this location. Approximately 15 miles south, Caspar Beach RV Park accommodates big rigs with water and electric hookups, though several reviews mention the sites are quite narrow, especially for RVs with slide-outs.

Throughout the coastal region, RV parks typically maintain clean restrooms and shower facilities, though some require quarters for shower operation. Dump stations are available at most parks, with Westport Beach and Dolphin Isle Marina offering on-site sanitary dump services. Cell service varies significantly along this stretch of coastline, with AT&T and Verizon generally providing better coverage than other carriers. Many parks in the area welcome pets, though specific restrictions may apply. During summer months, coastal RV sites fill quickly, particularly those with ocean views or beach access. Several parks remain open year-round, but travelers should note that Dolphin Isle Marina closes to short-term visitors during winter months due to seasonal coastal flooding.

Giant Redwoods RV & Cabin Destination

      Peaceful and Quiet

Park was mostly empty and very quiet. Plenty of full and partial RV hookups (generators are not allowed) and tent spots. Very clean facilities and well maintained. Friendly staff. Walking distance to the river and has a small enclosed dog run. Excellent WiFi. Weak Verizon and no AT&T service.

Dolphin Isle Marina & RV Park

      Quiet, seals, deer and wildlife

We love this place. We've been here for 2 months now off and on. The site we are on is located between a marina and the Noyo River. It allows for easy access for paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming and seals, sea lions and other wildlife. Last night a 6 point deer walked past our site. The rates are pretty reasonable and the people that run the campgrounds are great to work with. There is a kayak/sup rental as well next door. If you're lucky the maintenance guy will sing or whistle while doing his work, and makes for a good show! It does close down except for long-term use in the winter time (November-??) due to coastal seasonal flooding. Internet can be occasionally spotty but we use AT&T and Verizon which work well. Cable is provided. Full hook ups. Due to Covid enquire about the bathroom situation when calling to book. Walking distance from the harbor and a quick bike ride to the bluffs overlooking the ocean.

      All the ammenities!

We spent 4 nights here with our travel trailer. We had a site with full hook ups, including sewage (no need for dumping station!!). This is a great campground that is right on the beach! It has showers, flushing toilets, a little store, fire wood for sale, dish washing station, and even WiFi! The campground was very clean and really perfect for families! Couldn’t recommend more!

      Van Damme State Park Campground

      Beautiful Coastal Campsite

I’m rating the site four stars because of all the cons. That said, this was a lush campsite with comfortable amenities that turned out to be very family friendly.

PROS: • Beach is right across the street • Multiple bathrooms with outlets (I charged my EcoFlow battery in there) • Paid showers • Free WiFi • Gift/info shop on-site • Bear boxes, fire rings, and picnic table at seemingly every site • Lush foliage with walk/bike access to Fern Canyon • Family friendly with designated spots for both tents and large RVs. • Open field to run the dog

CONS: • Bathrooms weren’t confidence-inspiringly clean • The coolest sites with closer access to Fern Canyon were all closed for some reason • 1 vehicle per site reservation means $10/day for an additional car

Burlington Campground — Humboldt Redwoods State Park

      Quiet stay in Redwoods

Walking distance to the visitor center and other great hikes. Dog-friendly, clean restrooms/coin showers, and relatively private sites - some more than others. Beautiful surroundings!

Great for families with little ones

We stopped here overnight on our way up the coast. Well maintained, nice facility and friendly staff. Definitely wouldn’t come back for long term camping as we have older teenagers. The facility is definitely geared toward families with smaller kids. It was great for what we needed.

      Benbow KOA & Golf Course

      Different but to be expected

Wasn’t impressed by the long term population that seems to be residing there. It was quiet though and over all a decent stay. We spent 4 days there. The WiFi sucked and they put us in the far back. Stay closer to the front if you can in the premium spots. We didn’t know the difference. Non premium is in the way back, no fire pits and spotty WiFi.

      Just OK

We stayed one night on a trip down the 101. Lots of highway noise, no fire pits, seems like a lot of families here long term. Managers were nice.

Hidden Pines RV Park & Campground

      Quiet, no frills but safe

The owner is very accommodating but doesn’t give refunds. That didn’t affect me but I’ve heard lots of people complain. The sites are close together but full hookups (except sewer) and a picnic table and fire ring at each one. Dump station is free to campers and was easy to use. Check after noon for the most updated info. Mike the owners was very helpful and so was his staff. I’ve heard there’s a pool but I didn’t use it. A bit pricey but so is everyone else in the area. I felt safe there, and would stay again.

    Guide to Westport

Westport Beach RV Park and Campground provides oceanfront RV camping with full hookups including water, sewer, and electric connections. Sites accommodate large rigs with varying proximity to the beach, though premium spots offer direct ocean views and beach access. "Almost every spot seemed to be pretty nice. Pull throughs seemed a little tight, but all back-ins were spacious," noted one camper who appreciated the clean grounds and bathroom facilities. Harbor RV Park in Fort Bragg maintains sites with hookups year-round, though spaces are positioned close together. Along Highway 1, Westport Union Landing State Beach offers more basic accommodations for RVs without electric or sewer connections, suitable primarily for self-contained units.

During peak summer months, reservations are essential as oceanside RV spots fill quickly. Several parks in the region have limited or no cell service, with Westport Beach RV Park visitors specifically mentioning spotty WiFi connectivity. Roads leading to coastal campgrounds involve narrow, winding sections of Highway 1 that may challenge drivers of larger motorhomes. Dump stations are available at several facilities, including Westport Beach RV Park, which also offers propane sales through their on-site store. Most RV parks in the area permit pets, though rules vary regarding leash requirements and designated pet areas. Winter camping remains available at several locations, with Harbor RV Park and Wildwood RV Park operating year-round despite occasional coastal storms.
