PLEASE READ AND DONT STAY HERE!

The dozens of 1 star google reviews over the years are 100000 percent accurate.

If you’re thinking of staying here, don’t! This place is a DUMP! You walk into a literal mushroom shop. The photos online are extremely misleading. They charge double what other parks in the area charge.

We checked in and immediately left on a holiday weekend. It’s dirty, cramped, and unkempt. We called around to find another spot in town and all the other park owners confirmed that the owner (Mike) at Hidden Pines is basically a crook. He overcharges, misleads, and mismanages the park. We were placed in a grass lot, there were no views, no ocean access. Nothing. The lot was so bad our auto leveling trailer couldn’t level.

I was going to just let it go but the owner, Mike, called me five times after leaving and screamed at me. I didn’t even ask for my money back and told him he could give the space away. He kept screaming at me and told me he was going to write a report so I could never go there again - no problem Mike, we WILL NOT be back.

Now this is the point I decided to write a negative review. After screaming at me on the phone, he gave my phone number to a random person to have that person ask me if I would call HP to allow them to buy my spot. I never consented to my information being shared.

I would rate this place negative stars if I could. It’s atrocious and crooked, and other park owners jump to help you find a space when you call and ask, because it’s THAT BAD!

Stealing this bit from another review, because it’s absolutely accurate -

Also, this is for Mike, DO NOT WRITE THAT WE VIOLATED POLICIES OR DID NOT STAY AT YOUR PARK. YOU ARE A SCUMBAG AND OVERCHARGE FOR SOMETHING THAT IS AN ABSOLUTE ATROCITY.

Hospitality is second to none

Hospitality was really the highlight of this place! Very kind and accommodating. We were able to book last min, and able to do laundry which we desperately needed to do! It was quiet, and our spot #1 was big and away from the main loop. They do have amenities like an indoor pool, showers, laundry, and a little store too.

Worth the visit

Beautiful campground. The wifi is iffy and att is not so great but it’s worth the stay regardless. The owner is so nice and very helpful. It’s also close to everything! There’s a lot of hype about site 10 and I was in 12 which I thought was even better!

Hidden and peaceful

We decided to take a last minute camping trip to Fort Bragg in the middle of December. All the state campgrounds were closed. The private campgrounds were slow to respond. This one responded and even told us that we might be able to find a cheaper place. We decided not to keep looking, but to go ahead and lock our reservation in. The cost was somewhere around $50 per night, if I remember correctly. The place could be easy to miss driving down the road: the campground is located behind the campground store. There was a lower area and and upper area. There was no one in the lower area and we think he put us in the best spot in the upper area, site #10. There were a few long terms there, but they were pretty much invisible. The water pressure was a little weak and we did not need a regulator in the line. There were two WiFi signals in the campground, but we did better via cell phone signal. (AT&T). We checked out some other campgrounds in the area, but they were pretty crowded and cramped. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Fort Bragg.

Lucky to get the best spot

It's not much to look at when you drive up on highway 1 but behind that facade is a great Campground. There are different sections and the upper loop is definitely the best. Book spot #10 which is the largest and has a good view.

Other spots on the outside of the upper loop are good too. WiFi is spotty but a good cable TV makes up for that.

Quiet, no frills but safe

The owner is very accommodating but doesn’t give refunds. That didn’t affect me but I’ve heard lots of people complain. The sites are close together but full hookups (except sewer) and a picnic table and fire ring at each one. Dump station is free to campers and was easy to use. Check after noon for the most updated info. Mike the owners was very helpful and so was his staff. I’ve heard there’s a pool but I didn’t use it. A bit pricey but so is everyone else in the area. I felt safe there, and would stay again.

Excellent for Rv campers, cramped for tents

The entrance to this campground is behind a store so it technically is hidden.

What it lacks in privacy of sites it definitely makes up for in amenities. There are firewood bundles stacked up alongside the store for pick up. There is a pool and shower room open from 10 am to 10 pm.

The tent sites are right along a fence without much privacy. I would suggest this place for RV camping over tent camping.

There are showerhouses and bathrooms in the middle of the campground with a fish cleaning station.

It’s an expensive campground $45-69 per night depending on where you want to be.

Ocean view and sounds

Family park, nice and quite. Tent sites to full hookups. Older park facilitys very old. Some sites have an ocean view everyone can listen to the waves at night.

Close to everything

There are a few nice things about this campground. The amenities: water, power, free showers, and clean bathrooms. There are quite a few full time residents but they keep to themselves and are friendly. It's a short walk to the beach and grocery store. Camp host is very helpful. If discount weekly rates available. Decent cell service.
