Quiet and roomy, with privacy and blackberries!

We chose Pomo based on other reviews on TheDyrt. I picked site 47 out of the three that were left when I was searching for a place near Fort Bragg. Although it looks like the site is in the middle of the town, the sites are very private, many nestled between thick brush (blackberries!) and many back far enough from the road that it seems like you're boondocking. Our primary reason for choosing a coastal site was for comfort. It was still over 95 degrees inland, but a very comfortable 65 along the coast.

Almost all the RV sites are gravel, with the exception of a couple smaller ones, and the tent sites. There is a single bathroom complex, and the men's restroom was great...tiled with multiple stalls, large glass windows and CLEAN! I didn't check the showers out, but I'm assuming the same level of detail and finish also apply there.

It appears the sewer system doesn't cover all the sites, so the further back in the campground you go, there won't be any (an educated guess on my behalf). I walked through the campground, and most the RV sites have a power pedastal and water, a nice wooden picnic table and a fire ring. Internet access is available throughout, and when I ran speedtest I was getting 170Mbps down, which is incredible.

Make sure you look through the pictures of each site on the reservation page. They all are slightly different in size, privacy, and whatnot. There are several sites that "share" a common open space if you're in a group, and a large group area which looked to have 5 or 6 sites all comingled.

For tent camping, there is a large, open line of grass near the front of the campground, which doesn't really offer much protection from the sun. BUT...there is a loop at the back of the campground that has at least 10 grassy tent sites under a thick cover of pine trees. It's isolated by a path from the other RV sites, and I was really impressed by the area! If I were still tent camping, this would no doubt be my go-to tent site.

The nights were quiet and dark, and the staff friendly. They have 1 dump station, a fish cleaning station, propane and the office has a bunch of DVD movies available (not sure if for rent or free use).

Overall an excellent site and we were glad to find it, and will probably use this as a staging point for future treks further up the coast! I'll include some pictures of the site (I never include personal/family pictures because this is a campground review site, not a family album!)

Fort Bragg’s Best Camping

Arrived May 17th for two nights. This has been our go to park in Fort Bragg for the past 20 years. It’s gone up in price and is expensive but you get what you pay for.

Love that our sites are private and secluded. Bathrooms are very nice and lots of grass area for kids to play. Unfortunately they were out of direct wood on this trip but they usually have wood for sale.

We will always stay here

No cable, very weak WiFi and poor mainten

Edited: The folks in the campsite behind us contacted the office about a problem with the electrical. Their surge protector tripped as it indicated “Open Ground”. The maintence man stopped talked to them and left (as did they). Next thing you know someone was put into that spot without anything done to the electrical. They never touched it. Very nice park, good privacy, very clean. Laundry facilities are small but clean. Full Hookups. The only knock is the advertised cable is not functioning due to a dispute with the cable provider and the WiFi is very weak. We had Verizon and near our WeBoost we had 3 bars but outside the rig, 1 bar at best

Very Clean Camping! Camping 🏕

Pomo is a great campground just a couple miles from the center of Fort Bragg. We stayed in spot 12 (full hookup) and the ATT service was pretty non existent. They have wireless internet but at our location it connected but it was so weak we gave up. Don’t bother with it. I had to do some online work stuff so I drove town to the Pomo bluffs by the inlet and got some good ATT service. To reserve our spot I had to call in and send a deposit check. No online reservations or 💳 credit card at this time. Campsite had gravel that was raked in between visits and was super clean. The sites (at least 12) are VERY private with a tall hedge around three sides. A Washer drum fire pit and picnic table rounded out a great little zone. Bathrooms, laundry and showers go along with the cleanliness of the whole campground.

Great privacy!

Nicely kept park with great privacy between sites. Lots of mature trees, bushes, and flowers. Quiet, although front sites might get a little road noise. Helpful staff. Close to glass beach.

Beautiful Secluded Spots

Great campground! Definitely expect to be off the grid as Service and WiFi are pretty intermittent. Spots have tons of trees/greenery in between so it feels very secluded.

Fantastic!

So happy we chose POMO for our recent trip to Fort Bragg. This was our first trip of any distance in our first camper. The sites are wonderful. We had water and ectric hookups and the site was very my nice. Lots of trees and brush between sites and included a fire pit and picnic table. Staff was very friendly. I will definitely be back next time we head to the North Coast.

Great Site

We stayed here on site #35.  Cable, water, and electric, and it was worth not having sewer connection. Site has a table and firepit.   I put the leveling jack down, but the RV was level without putting them down.  Private, and quiet, with beautiful flower and bushes.  If you want wifi and great cell phone coverage, this site is not for you.  Watch the big pothole when turning off highway 1.

Very Nice

Close to town, ocean access. Nice private spaces divided by hedges. Sites are fairly large and very well maintained. Only negative i have is the roads in the campground are narrow. I would highly recommend Pomona camp ground, best in Fort Bragg.

Nicest place in Ft Bragg

Very clean and nice spot. Enjoyed our one night stay on a hold over as we travelled. Friends tell us all the time to check it out and that it’s the nicest place in Ft. Bragg. Haven’t been many other places in town but so far it tops them all. Fire pits and WiFi were a nice feature as well.

Incredibly friendly camp hosts and LOTS of space

Talk about secluded. Even though you are so close to town this is off the beaten path and you can’t even get into this campground unless you have a reservation. The front building shows all the sites available and even has maps ready for pick up when you arrive to the campground.

There is a shower house and Laundry building in the center of the campground.

Sites are a bit tight together but have adequate privacy utilizing trees and shrubs.

The loops are well laid out but would be tight for a longer RV to come into.

Ideal for couples since tent camping is $35 per night for 2 people, and extra adult is $17.50. And $1 per pet per night.

Sea the City

This campground is beautifully maintained and has areas for traditional tent campers, RVs, and whatever else suits your fancy! The sites have privacy in the fact that there are hedges grown between each one, unless you book a group site. The convenience of being so close to town, yet feeling like you’re in the forest is hard to beat. There are showers & restrooms, although the showers operate on quarters. The staff is always friendly, and they have a good supply of books/games that you can borrow from the main office. Access to the ocean is quick, and there are multiple bike & hiking trails nearby! I’ve also attached some pictures and a video of the nearby tidepooling scene.
