Princess Campground sits next to a large meadow at an elevation of 5,900 feet in the Indian Basin Grove. The campsite is just 3 miles northwest of Hume Lake. The 87-acre lake was built to support a one-time commercial logging operation, and is part of the Kings River Watershed, a region of the Sierra Nevada mountains replete with vast stands of timber. The lake now provides countless recreational opportunities for visitors.
The Indian Basin Grove Interpretive Trail offers an accessible, paved half-mile loop, and an additional half-mile extension loop through the grove and meadow area. The trailhead is right outside the camp entrance. At nearby Hume Lake, visitors can enjoy fishing, non-motorized boating, hiking, mountain biking and off-road exploring. For hikers of all levels, the 2.6-mile Hume Lake Loop at the lake and features interpretive signs and benches.
The Sequoia National Forest, located at the southern end of the Sierra Nevada in central California, takes its name from the giant sequoia, the world's largest tree, which grows in more than 30 groves on the Forest's lower slopes. The Forest comprises about 1.1 million acres, and elevations range from about 1,000 to 12,000 feet, creating precipitous canyons and mountain streams with spectacular waterfalls such as Salmon Creek Falls and Grizzly Falls.

Sunset campground is within an hour's drive of the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park, home of the biggest tree in the world, the General Sherman, and the Cedar Grove area of Kings Canyon National Park. Fishing is 30 minutes away at Hume Lake in Sequoia National Forest. The national forest also includes Converse Basin and the Chicago Stump, where you can learn the history of logging in the area. The Crystal Caves are about a two hour drive (16 miles/63 km) from the campground. Reserve your tickets in advance on Recreation.gov.

Dinkey Creek is spread out along the banks of its namesake creek in a thick forest of Ponderosa pines and cedars. The facility's high country setting with trees, streams and open space, make it a scenic destination for all types of visitors.
Dinkey Creek has 2 swimming areas: The Slicks and Honeymoon Pool, both of which contain pools carved out of granite. Anglers can fish Dinkey Creek for brown and rainbow trout. Hikers can walk the Dinkey Creek Trail. Mountain bikers also have trail access in this area.

Bearskin Grove offers the rare opportunity to photograph an entire mature sequoia in one frame. Hiking through the grove, visitors will find a mix of young and old sequoias, including about 50 trees that measure over six feet in diameter. Take Tenmile Road (Forest Road 13S09) to Forest Road 13S02, then 13S98 to enter the grove. If you have an RV or prefer car camping/glamp set up this is a very nice spot. Lots of RV spots, but I chose to tent camp. Two types of tent sites, platform and ground neither of which has AC/Water. I had a platform site that was next to a little stream. There is a village store on site, showers, toilets, and water. Close to Wishon Reservoir which is great for trout fishing. Courtright is a little farther but wasn't accessible at the time I went due to fallen trees blocking the road. Attended a village church service on Sunday which was the topping on the cake for me. Lots of people around the campsites but partying is prohibited. That being said if you want a little more serene camping experience there is plenty of dispersed camping in this part of the woods.

So much to cover its best to go to Recreation.gov and choose your camp area. Highly recommended by this family !

This is a really cool little campground near the entrance of Sequoia National Park. The sites are tent only, so no hookups or anything like that. Pretty nice sites though, a lot of space. I think there can be fire restrictions in the summer since it can get so dry, so just be aware of that. As far as places go, it wasn't too pricey. I think we paid about $20 a night. There are bathrooms with running water, and the sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Each site also has storage lockers for your food, so be sure to lock it up in order to keep the bears from getting into it.
As for stuff to do around here, you obviously have to check out the trees. Go look at General Sherman and all the other Sequoia trees. They're so amazing and honestly it humbles you a little. Also check out Moro Rock Trail. The view from the top is amazing. You'll also probably see a fair amount of wildlife while you're hiking around, so be careful of the bears. Out of all my trips to California, I've seen the most bears here in Sequoia. They are super cool creatures, just keep a respectful distance and of course don't feed them.

ScoutWe had a wonderful time. We had camped here about 10-15 years ago and found the park to be a bit dusty, dry, and run down. This time it was very green, very shady, and well kept. The host was very nice and friendly. There is a small convenience store with all the last minute essentials. There are a couple of new looking piers out into the river and a very nice beach. It was a dry time of year so the river was down and the lagoon was dry. All the roads were lined with redwood chips and kept moist with a water truck. We were very impressed with all the improvements. The park is now RV only with no tent camping. We will definitely come here again.

We decided to try calling Lindy‘s Landing and Campground to see if there was an availability. They answer the phone! She told us there were plenty of sites.The staff are friendly and helpful. There are not a lot of campers here, and it is quiet and peaceful. It is 81 miles from here to Yosemite Village. Hope to get an early start so we can beat the line going into the park. Hidden gem in the Spring. Happy we found this park. $35.00 for full hookups. No good Sam or auto club discount. But still a better price than most private campgrounds
GuideWe had booked a pull thru site and they asked to change our spot because they were having a party that day in that area. I was okay with it until we got there and tried to pull into the spot. We have a 35 foot 5th wheel and they put us on the far end where it was hard to turn. It took a lot of turning and backing up to get into this spot. The spot had a huge concrete barrier so people wouldn't drive up on the sand area. If that wasn't there it would have been easier to get into the spot bit we couldn't go forward anymore. There was also a chain link fence in the way. We camped with others that had smaller 25 foot travel trailers and they got into their spots okay. If you have a big trailer, don't get these spots at the end (L-28). The lady that said we would fit no problem obviously has never tried to park a big trailer there. Bring your own fire pit too. They don't have any.

Pine Flat is a beautiful place close to home yet far enough to find a peaceful getaway at the lake. Campgrounds are clean, restrooms and showers are close to campaign if you are tent camping. Trails to hike and explore.
ScoutRangers were very nice, it was clean and they have pretty good showers. We were very late to check-in but had no problems getting in. One of the boat launch ramps was right there in the camp ground and the other was really close at lake view. Water was really low but still had a blast on my kayak and with my dogs and trying to catch fish. It’s by reservations only and we stayed 3 nights. It is pretty far away from the market so don’t forget to pack your cooler. Definitely recommend this camp.

RangerThis campground is situated by a lake. Love this spot! You’ll hear all the frogs by night and birds in the morning, great place for fly fishing or cat fishing and nice folks staying here! We had a bit of fun filling the truck up to make a portable pool, it’s quite warm in the summer months but perfect if you’re visiting the Clovis Rodeo!!! A local town isn’t far away. Great place for the family and pet friendly! It is pitch black at night, so bring flashlights. Restrooms are available, some sites have water, and trash dump is available. There’s no place on premise to purchase wood but park rangers operate entry at a booth during business hours for more information during your stay, if needed.

I’ll start with the negatives: you can hear traffic all night because it is located in an industrial area and the showers are not hot. It is close to the Sequoia NP which is warm in the summer so the pool at this campground was refreshing.

GuideThis by far is my favorite one! Plenty of options and good with kids too. They all have the events close to the park entrance. Three Rivers is about 5 miles away, i was blown away with this lake by the foothills but it really feels like a lake on a mountaintop! Its not as clear as Lake Tahoe but theres camp grounds along the bay, for military personnel, we have learned that theres an army campground here. You can reserve your spot and camp and this closes by night time, check your mwr or militarycampgounds.com for more info. I believe this is exclusive for active, reserve and retired. Be ready for an identification for the park rangers will check randomly. Also along the bay, watch for the tide. Some paved roads can be under water. That weekend there were trees under water and huts only roof left thats visible so be aware of you leave your belongings try to keep it on the higher ground or in the vehicles. We dont want to ruin this area because this is actually a dam. Anything debris could potentially be a hazard. Plus for the creatures thats living in the water. There were people that brought their boats and some were fishing. Plenty of hotels in the area but if dont come unplanned like what we did. We did not reserve a camp site since its first come first serve basis and it was a memorial day weekend.. holidays- plan ahead! 😂 but we still found a place to stay and the next day we explore the park and its was magical!
Importantly due to the elevation, always bring chains with yall, there are some places there that rents or buy the chain but it could be really pricey.
ScoutWe stayed here for a week over the 4th of July. We planned on spending most of that week in the Sequoias and King’s Canyon, a little disappointing to find that it is quite a drive to get to the parks. The name is deceiving but our bad for not researching more before booking. The pool was nice and we had no issues with the camp site or the hookups. Probably wouldn’t come back to this KOA unless we were just passing through and needed a place to stay.
