Sequoia National Forest encompasses Tenmile Campground, a US Forest Service facility that operates seasonally from Memorial Day through September. Located near Hume, this established campground accommodates RVs up to 40 feet and offers water hookups at sites ranging from $36-75 per night. The access road can be rough, requiring careful navigation to reach the forested setting.
The campground sits among giant sequoia trees with nearby creek access. Emily T. notes there's "a creek running behind our campground which was an easy (less than 10 minute) walk that had a natural rock slide into the water." Fishing opportunities exist at Hume Lake, while the creek provides cooling relief during warmer months. Sites feature picnic tables and fire rings, with campfires permitted during the season.
Cell service is limited throughout the area, particularly AT&T coverage. Wildlife includes bears, making proper food storage essential. Some reviewers mention cattle in the vicinity. The campground host provides assistance with site selection and local information. Pets are welcome, and reservations can be made in advance.
Tenmile works well for RV campers seeking hookups within the national forest, though the rough access road may challenge some vehicles. The seasonal operation and elevation make it suitable for summer camping among the sequoias.
