desert camping you have to pay for

ok ok ok... this place does offer a lot!!! A clean blue swimming pool, laundry, showers, and bathrooms. each camp spot has pads, bbq grills, and water sources, some also offer a little covered canopy which is needed out here. In case you want to stay in a cabin, they have small cabins available to rent. This place has a variety of games around that can be fun for groups. I gave it a 4 only because it's really nothing special besides the amenities they could for sure have put some nice trees in to make it more shade for guest.

Well the name says it all

Gravel roads and oleanders between each site for total privacy. You are in the desert but they have made this place feel like you are not in the desert. Each site is pull through and has a pavement slab for table or chairs, water, sewer and 50 amp hook ups. On property they offer showers, T-Mobile phone service, dump station, picnic tables, toilets, WiFi and trash. Pets are allowed! Yayyy... Reservations can be made.

    Everything one could need

Cool Little Spot !! Talk about clean! This place has exceeded that by all means. The bathroom was immaculate as can be. With kids if the bathroom isn’t clean our babies are not going in. Super dope place right on the river with little sandy beaches on the river and a cool water inlet that is surrounded by grass for a fun family day. This entire place has hook ups and group areas available. They do have cabin rentals as well. Grocery store Golf across the street Tennis courts

Here are my star ratings based on my lifestyle and what I like. I'm also a mother, dog mama, and a wife so it's not just me it's my crew and i. 1 star- AUTOMATIC relocate... the property is no longer there, trashed or/and I could never have my children there and I wouldn't ever think about staying no matter what OR its not something us campers are on this is more of an airbnb. 2 star- Not really my jam, and would NEVER go to again... It probably more of desert life and not really my style for sure...Being from Vegas I can't stand being in the desert and I love the Trees and the Green more than anything. 3 star- Would stay there again in a pinch, but not really my style, the reason its not is because not enough family things to do, the scenery, or the location... but I would go again and feel safe having my kiddos here but only if I needed to in a pinch. 4 star- a really good rating for sure, maybe needed some improvements, minor things like being on top of each other, not a lot of privacy, but honestly little cosmetic things that aren't anything to sweat and would be back again for sure. 5 star- MY FAVORITE... love the location, safety, the surroundings, big camp spots available to fit toys for my kids to play, hammocks to hang, our big family tent, cases of firewood, our suburban or RV, etcccccc..... I would not only come back but would live if I could!!! Anyway thanks for reading and enjoy every moment like it's your last! CHEERS!

    great amenities

They have their own entrance to the river which is super neat because if you rent jet skis you can get back to your lodging any time of the day. Also if you have a boat you can load and unload it with the private ramp which is a bonus.

They have full hookups, tables, laundry, a pool, and the river. very nice place and well kept.

also on-site, they have vacation rentals right on the river!! so check them out!! super clean and a neat place they have here and I will be back.

It's neat if you take the water taxis across to the casinos and walk the boardwalk, there are so many bugs so be prepared. o posted pictures of us on the boardwalk and the jet ski we rented which is a great spot just down the street from the rv park

    Second visit

Nice tall Oleander shrubs provide shade and privacy between sites. Generous sized pull through sites. This time we stayed in the back row (in front of the full timers) and it was so quiet. Previously we stayed near the office and could hear some road noise from I-40; much quieter in the back. Each site has a concrete patio. Grateful for Hook-ups as it has been over 100 degrees each time we've stayed and A/C is necessary. Quiet people camp here. Nice pool. Cheap gas, water jug station and RV self wash just across the border.

    Pool looks nice

The pool looks nice but it’s been too cold to check it out. I am not used to the desert so it’s hard for me to like this area. However the sites are flat and gravel and there is a decent laundry room. The bath house is dated but serviceable. For some reason my spot didn’t have a picnic table but it’s too windy to use anyways.

    Colorado River Oasis RV Park

    Very well kept and pretty

Super nice RV resort in Bullhead city, I was blown away to find this little gem in this area. It's so well kept and plenty of room for the big rigs, Full hook-ups at every site(w/s/e) 20/30/50 amp, I noticed Concrete patios at most sites, oh, and did I mention they have FREE Wi-Fi throughout the park! Also FREE Cable TV! Very wide sites, with plenty of room for your slide-outs. I was impressed by how clean this park is and the level gravel throughout the park and RV sites. Everyone has access to their dope sandy beach and its free use for any guest to launch their boat. This place is pretty and filled with tropical landscaping. Another bonus is they offer a year-round swimming pool and hot tub and a clubhouse with kitchen facilities & TV, a fitness room, spotless restrooms& showers and I did notice laundry facilities. They do have Group rates as well just inquire with them.

They do have other little cabins or rooms to rent and some that overlook the water. super impressed by this entire place.

    Needles KOA

    Deluxe campground, sweltering heat

This is my first time staying at a KOA campground. I'm impressed with how many amenities are provided: pool, laundry room, clubhouse, well-appointed bathroom, and a camp store with reasonable prices. My campsite is tidy and of a generous size. There are only a few shrubs for privacy, but the campground is practically empty so this isn't an issue today.

What is an issue today is the heat. As I write this at 10:11 at night, it is 100° F. When I arrived in Needles this afternoon, it was 114° F. The water that comes out of the spigots here is like bathwater. I started my day in L.A., where it was about 70° F. I knew it would be hotter inland, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I'll be breaking camp at dawn tomorrow and hurrying back into the air conditioned sanctuary of my car. This campground is probably much more pleasant in the winter.

    Nice Park on Route 66

This park is located adjacent to a KOA on a road that used to be a section of the old Route 66.  Our GPS vectored us in circles until it got it right.  So be warned.  We like this park better than the KOA because for many reasons including more privacy between your neighbor, better aesthetic's in plantings and arrangements, and just a smaller park.  We found all of the spaces extremely clean.  They have very nice oleander shrubs planted between the spaces, and they make it known that they are poisonous to your pets.

We used the laundry room.  They had 4 washers and 4 dryers.  The washers were $2.50 a load, and the dryers were $2.00 a load.

We also used a dog washing station that was very handy.  Most of the guests are not full time residents, but there appeared to be some.

The couple that helps manage the park were very welcoming, and thanked us for staying there.  However, she did charge me an extra $15 for arriving at 1130 in the morning.  The check-in time is 1400.

I couldn't get their internet to work, but I had enough bars with Verizon to use my cell phone for a hotspot.

There will be highway noise throughout the park as I-40 is around .5 miles away.

You can buy propane at the Nextdoor KOA, and there is a Walmart just up the road in Mojave Valley, AZ.  Fuel prices are about $1.50  to $2 a gallon less in AZ, about 2 miles away on the road.

We dined one evening at the Wagon Wheel, about a mile from the park and it was quite good, with excellent service.  I recommend the chicken fried steak.

I would certainly stay here again!
