Best Cabin Camping near Kelseyville, CA

Furnished cabins at Clear Lake State Park and Kelsey Creek Campground provide lakeside accommodation options with varying amenities. Cabins typically include basic furnishings with paved pads and shaded sites, though amenities differ by location. Most units offer drinking water access, picnic tables, and fire pits where permitted. Bathroom facilities include token-operated showers and flush toilets. A camper noted, "Bathrooms were clean, but I think because they were individual bathrooms and had no windows, even though it had extremely high ceilings, there didn't seem to be enough circulation."

KOA-style cabins can be found at Cloverdale/Healdsburg Campground and Thousand Trails Russian River, approximately 30-45 minutes from Kelseyville. These typically offer more amenities than state park cabins, including electricity, water hookups, and sometimes kitchen facilities. Pet policies vary by property, with most allowing pets for an additional fee. Reservations are strongly recommended, especially during summer months when lakeside properties reach capacity. A visitor commented, "We were in a group site, which was nice and spacious. Had some tree coverage too which we were very grateful for because it was quite warm."

While most cabins provide beds and basic furniture, visitors should bring their own linens, towels, and cooking supplies. Pine Grove Cobb Resort offers year-round cabins with more extensive furnishings. Clear Lake Campground provides quaint cabins directly on Cache Creek with good fishing access. On-site stores at several properties stock basic provisions, though selection is limited. Firewood is available for purchase at most locations where fires are permitted. Bathroom facilities typically include showers, though some require tokens purchased on-site for operation.

    San Francisco North-Petaluma KOA

    Great camp for the kids

This KOA is pretty big with plenty of options for RV sites. Wide variety of full hook-ups or partial hook-ups. Like most (if not all) KOAs, you can also tent camp or tent cabins. Good size dog park for the pets to run and be free, as well as plenty of fun activities to entertain the kiddos. For us, this is a great spot to shoot down the highway and pull in for a few days to get away from the hustle and bustle of normal life! Close to downtown Petaluma with plenty of premium shops and restaurants.

Manchester Beach / Mendocino Coast KOA

    Safe sound and beautiful

Senior camping at it's best. A heated cabin and pad on bed that was comfortable. Got showers and a family vibe. Great location for scouting Mendocino coastline and Pt Arena. No wifi though so don't bring work.

Ritchey Creek Campground — Bothe-Napa Valley State Park

Campground in the heart of wine country

Small, cozy campground located in the heart of wine country. Site contains fire pit, picnic tables, and bear locker. Several prominent wineries located near by as well as a charming town called Calistoga. Sites and bathrooms were well maintained. Good option if you're doing Napa on a budget!

    Hendy Woods State Park Campground

    Family Freindly Redwood Camping

Spacious sites with fire pit, wooden food box and picnic table. Potable water available at spigots along the roads every 3-4 campgrounds. The campground has restrooms with sinks (bring your own soap), flush toilets, coin operated showers. Campground ha easy access to hiking, swimming in the river, and wine tasting just up the road. There a local produce stands just up the road where you can expect to buy tasty Gravenstien apples if you visit in August! Mosquitoes are present so bring bug spray! If you forget anything, there is a Mom and Pop store up the road that sells almost everything you need including batteries, tableclothes, butane, ice and firewood for about $6 a bundle. The campground host sells firewood for $8 a bundle. Campsites are for 8 people maximum. Even with 8 people, we didn't feel cramped. Sites come with 2 parking passes. If you have more than two cars in your party, you can pay for additional parking passes. Dog friendly! I was the only person in my group to have cell service here and I have Verizon.

Manchester Beach / Mendocino Coast KOA

Delightful, quiet campground in the pines not far from Mendocino

Normally I wouldn't think of myself as a KOA sort of camper. This campground is enough to change my mind! There are some weekends you need to get away, but there's no time to pack the long list of stuff needed for camping. So we tried out one of these little cedar cabins. It was fantastic!!

We loved the quiet, laidback campground, with lovely old pines giving a sense of being in the forest -- even while being walking distance from the water. You're literally close enough to hear the surf, and see the Point Arena lighthouse.

It's dog friendly, with pool, hot tub, hot showers, full bathrooms, and also extensive Camp Kitchen facilities with sho-nuff gas grills.

    We absolutely plan to return!
