The area offers trails through colorful slot canyons, across badlands, and along ridges with panoramic views. Painted Canyon is one of the most popular hikes, featuring vibrant mineral-stained walls. Ladder Canyon Trail includes wooden ladders to navigate the narrow passages. Box Canyon and Hidden Springs trails are also noteworthy options. Trails range from easy walks to more challenging hikes requiring scrambling. Remember to bring plenty of water, as these are arid desert trails with little to no shade.

This remote desert wilderness area is approximately 25 miles southeast of Palm Springs, within the Colorado Desert region.
