Hobson Beach Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Stepping directly onto the sand from your campsite is the draw at Hobson Beach Park, a drive-in county campground along the Ventura coast where waterfront sites sit close enough to the ocean that, as one reviewer put it, the ground shakes as waves crash into the sea wall. Sites are arranged in two rows, with the closest row offering direct views of rocky shoreline and access via stairs down to the sandy beach. Fishing from the rocks, watching wave action, and walking the beach are the main activities here. The snack bar on site operates from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m., covering breakfast and lunch.

The tradeoff for proximity to the water is density. Sites are compact, privacy is limited, and the RV-heavy layout means neighbors are close. A passing train surfaces occasionally in reviews as a noise source. Full hookups, including electric, water, and sewer, accommodate rigs up to 50 feet, and the campground also provides showers, a dump station, and WiFi. Nightly rates run $41 to $60. Reservations are available and pets are allowed.

Campers who favor this stretch of coast often rotate among nearby options. Faria Beach Park and Rincon Parkway RV Overnight are both along the same corridor, and those exploring camping near Hobson County Park will find the area supports multi-night stays across several properties. Site 25 has drawn repeat visitors, and site 14, which overlooks boulder rocks with a windbreak of bushes, has been noted for its layout. Come with earplugs if light sleeper tendencies apply.

Guests frequently mentioned oceanfront sites with clean facilities and direct beach access. A common theme was tight spacing between sites and mixed feelings about noise levels from waves and neighbors.

Good location - no space

The location is nice and th spark is easily accessible from the highway. Waterfront sites. However you do not get much privacy and we felt that there were too many RV in such a small space.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do reviews say about Hobson Beach Park camping?

Hobson Beach Park offers a spectacular oceanfront camping experience with sites overlooking boulder-type rocks and crashing waves. Campers particularly enjoy the ocean views and the soothing sound of waves throughout the night. Site #25 is frequently mentioned as a favorite spot. While the scenery is beautiful, be aware that sites close to the water are positioned quite close together, offering limited privacy. The campground is conveniently located near Faria and Rincon, making it popular with surfers. Some visitors note that the ground shakes as waves crash into the sea wall, adding to the immersive coastal experience.

How much does it cost to camp at Hobson Beach Park?

Hobson Beach Park offers dry camping with oceanfront views. While specific pricing information isn't detailed, the campground provides quarter-operated hot showers as part of its facilities. For current and exact camping fees, it's recommended to contact the park management directly or check their official website before planning your trip. Fees may vary based on season, site location, and whether you're choosing a standard or premium oceanfront site.

Where can I find a map of Hobson Beach Park campground?

Is Hobson Beach Park suitable for RV camping?

Hobson Beach Park does accommodate RVs, though space is somewhat limited. The campground has been described as having too many RVs in a relatively small area, which can make the environment feel crowded.
