Typical State Beach RV Camping

Nothing really stands out about this campsite. It provides the basic fire pit ring, picnic bench, and parking spot for your RV and one vehicle that you have to pay an additional fee per day to park on your site. The rangers patrol very early in the morning and will issue you a citation for any violation. No soap provided in the restrooms. Restrooms were cleaned and maintained every morning. The city is very nearby to grab any necessities or food if you don’t want to cook.

Amazing Beach Views

Great leveled dirt/gravel space that overlooked the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Check in 12:00 am Check out 11:00 am

Small snack bar with fresh food but limited hours.

Bathrooms were well stocked and clean. We saw squirrels, rabbits, dolphins, sea lions and birds.

I loved this campground due to the oceanfront views.

Tailgate Camping

This campground had more of a tailgate feel due to the parking lot camping spaces provided.

Santa Rosa Loop #309

Check in 2:00 pm Check out 12:00 pm

The parking spot was two vehicles wide. The backyard area was Sandy ground equipped with a fire pit and wooden bench. Plenty of space if you want to add tents.

Night two we switched locations to San Miguel Loop #421. This space was more compact with a smaller backyard area. It was one of the rare spots that had a tree that provided plenty of shade. We did not need to setup our easy up.

Bathrooms were decent. No soap provided. Showers available and coin operated.

This campground was extremely busy during the weekend in July I was there. There is a great brewery walking distance (10 minutes) for a quick bite, live music and drinks. The downtown area is very walkable for this campground so you can plan your meals in advance if you don’t feel like cooking.

Redwood Camping

Cozy tight quarters but just enough room for a picnic bench, fire pit and hanging out area. This campground is covered entirely by redwoods with plenty of shade for a cool vacation. Spots were leveled with dirt. No tent camping allowed in RV sites.

Hookups at every campsite. Water Shore power Cable

Restrooms and Laundry requires a password code to get in provided at check in.

Restrooms had 3 stalls and 4 free showers available. Cleaned and stocked daily.

Check in office has the essential camping supplies if you forget something at home. (Ice, snacks, batteries, souvenirs) free K cup coffee provided 9 am - 5 pm. You can charge anything to your campsite and they will add it to your credit card on file.

Quiet hours 9:30 pm - 8:00 am

Clubhouse 9 am - 9 pm (Tv, couch, dinning tables, fridge, microwave, board games) deck with public BBQ area and plenty of seating that oversees the San Lorenzo River.

Perfect woodsy campsite. Would recommend and return for future visits.
