I've car camped a few other places since my first time camping here last year. Nothing compares. Sites on the cliff side are hard to get but I came up here on June 1 and many sites were open. I guess everyone who came up for Memorial Day weekend had already left. I was lucky enough to get site 35.…

This campground is free to stay in max of 14days, it’s so quiet and the views are spectacular, not far from the lake if you have a car but too far to walk.
The camp hosts Chris and Jerry are wonderful. The camp was very clean and well managed. Each camp was like a little zen garden. Manicured very well and organized. The community toilets even smelled good!
This is a great state campground. Not a lot of sites but they're REALLY BIG and gives a sense of being in the forest but still has toilets nearby for those who need them. Great place for tent camping but most sites can support MH & Trailers.
Campsites have a decent amount of space. We had to 10 person tents, 210 x 10 foot canopies, plenty of area around the fire pit as well as space have horseshoes and cornhole set up. Maybe we got lucky with our site location but it definitely worked out well! The forest service staff that maintained…
Great setting on the lake. Hardworking helpful host team keeps the grounds and toilets immaculate. Lake is lovely. Early morning access before day use crowds come is great for quiet early morning kayak or SUP use.
Great free area to camp. Spots go fast on the weekends. There were some campsites where people left trash which was disappointing. Pack it in and out!
Rocky & bumpy road, but beautiful views!

You are basically on the side of interstate. For tent it is really noisy option as tent sites are closest to the highway. In addition is rather expensive option ($33 per small tent).
Nice open campsites - hosts on duty during open season. Can be Tricky to get out of mud when it rains. - Driveways can be Rocky and muddy. but overall a great place to camp. As expected, no Amenities. pack out what you bring in.
Such a Beautiful area! Pleanty of sites with fire pits and gorgeous views! We even had 3 wild horses come through camp one morning. Can get very windy right on the rim. So be firewise with choosing when not to build a fire!

Stayed here on our way from california to home. Greeter was awesome he was very very helpful. Full hookups pull through spot. Pretty level site. We did have to use washer and dryers. Almost all the washers were fictional on the other hand only 3 of 8 dryers worked. We did decide to use the showers…
Convenient to the interstate, clean, straight forward, and easy spot to stop while traveling!
There was substantial road noise from our spot but not overwhelming and feels the price to pay for a campground so convenient to the highway.
Prices do seem a bit steep for what’s on offer.
Luckily, we found an open spot on the Rim arriving on Thanksgiving day. Several open spots on the other side of the road. Chilly weather with some snow flurries overnight. The spots face west and make for some awesome sunset memories. Be careful at night on the Rim side for sure! I can imagine this…
This was our first KOA experience and it was a great spot to stop. We stayed one night as we were traveling cross county and this was convenient. They have the new cabins and a very nice layout. There is not much to do close by except for the petrified forest 20+ miles away; so we decided to…
