Beautiful with caveats

The area is beautiful Forrest not far off the highway. We drove well past the initial sites and found a pretty quiet spot with neighbors barely visible. The site nearest was full of trash left behind and processed by wildlife. So sad! The road had some pretty big mud puddles along the way, but were passable. There were some pretty big rigs that made it through. I could hear trains in the distance the whole time through Williams or going to the Grand Canyon. Cell service was good for T-Mobile. Level and spacious sites are easy to find. Beautiful place!

Peace and quiet

As I came in there seemed to be allot of fellow campers, but the further back I drove the less people I came across. Until I came to a spot with no other campers around. I was looking for peace and quiet and found exactly that. Beautiful view and plenty of open space. I will definitely return.

Great quiet open area

Went up there Labor Day weekend. Wasn’t sure what we would find or how much room there would be. Got there late at night drove past the initial open area right off the road about 1/2 mile back and nothing but great open quiet spots. I will frequent here for sure

Very quiet spot we had with our friends camping for the weekend. It is open range in the evening we do have some cattle around us but not in our campsite. little bit of a drive into Flagstaff but not bad.

Williams, AZ BLM

Very wide lightly rutted dirt roads. It's April 10th today and not as muddy as you would expect. Lots and lots of spaces. I came here in the dark in a 35' class pulling a jeep and found a spot no issues

Lovely pines

Stopped for an overnight, and we had tons of privacy and quiet. All the sites have some stone fire rings, so we gathered some local pine and loved it. Excellent overnight!

Great place to stay a among Pine trees

Numerous sloots not to close to your neighbors. Just follow the forest road until you find your spot. Could became mudy if it rains and our spot was stony. Clean and neat and nice. Good place to camp even for a couple of days or even up to 14 days.

We Camped here while doing some breweries hopping in Williams and Flagstaff. Definitely a busy area but were able to go way back and found a spot with no one else near us. Can hear the I 40 in the distance and the train.

Among the pines

We rolled in here on a Saturday and we're able to find a nice secluded spot down the road to the right at the fork. Some spots are close together near the entrance but space out the farther back you go. Love the pines!

forest with plenty of space

many pull-off spots along a long road into the forest and you get to choose wherever you want to camp. the open field offers plenty of space between campers so it doesn’t feel crowded and you can find one big enough to accommodate your group. we arrived in the dark and had no problem finding a spot. it even came with a pre-owned fire pit!

Peaceful Oasis In The Sweetest Town

I'm so obsessed with this campsite. Plenty of room to spread out, different scenery depending on where you park & how far in you drive. I stayed here in my Honda fit & a tent attached to it with my dog for a week & absolutely loved it. Plenty of spots for people using solar & also great for those who use Starlink. Verizon had okay service, 4G & 2 bars pretty regularly where I was parked. Nearby to Kaibab Lake & Sycamore Falls, both definitely worth a visit. Heard lots of wildlife & even saw 5 deer one day on our walk around the grounds. Pack in, pack out. Will definitely be back!

Just Northwest of Williams, AZ by 10min...

Awesome place!!! Very accessible. Large area. Do not need 4 wheel drive to reach a spot you can camp in. Other spots you might need high clearance. It's a good idea to bring a small shovel to remove large rocks that might impede driving into uncharted territory for the prefect spot, but not a necessity. See pic.

Secluded, NOT!

If you're seeing seclusion, this is not the place.  The spots are great however there are too many people "camping" here.  Maybe it's because the time of year (summer and cooler temps).  There are some shaded spots but mostly open range areas which is great for solar. Some roads have ruts and divots so having a camper with high ground clearance is preferred.

Great place to chill for a few days!!

What a great place to stay for a bit. It is just North of Williams, which is a pretty neat little town, and about an hour away from the Grand Canyon South entrance, on highway 64. Follow GPS/Google Maps to get here.

There are plenty of places to park and not be crowded. The only issue is if it rains or snows, in our case, the ground gets pretty mushy and can be hard to navigate through. We waited an extra day for it to dry up a bit then left. Other than that, it was quiet and not to busy, just on the weekends. The road in is hard packed coming in as a trucking company uses it to haul dirt/rock out, couple times a day, after that, depending on size of rig/vehicle, get out and look it over.

Williams has quite a bit to offer, plenty of places to eat and buy goodies as well as Safeway grocery store. We took the train ride to the Grand Canyon from here. Flagstaff is not far away, about 30 mins or so East, if you need a Walmart or any other box store to get items.

FYI.. we got water and dump from the Grand Canyon Railroad RV Park in Williams... it was$8 for Water,$10 to Dump... you can do either or both...very nice people!!

Nice dry camp set up. Multiple pull outs down the main road to set up camp, some have fire pits already built from previous people. Close to fishing and town.

Good for the evening

I stayed here a year ago and came back while passing through. Much better AT&T service this stay. You have your choice of wooden or sun filled sites. Dry camping with no services but just 10 minutes from Williams. Be respectful and kind and pack out your trash. Very quiet at night and didn’t have an issue locating a level spot during my stay.

Awesome! (except if rains)

This place is awesome. Just about 2 miles east of Winslow off highway to south rim of GCNP. Easy to find and plenty of spaces in the pines. I would avoid of rain is forecast as there are deep mud ruts.

Wooded, private and free

Arrived late on a Saturday in June and the area was packed! We just kept driving along a pretty rugged dirt road until we found a site. Turned out to be great. Not a person in sight and very wooded. The road we ended up on was best for 4WD but the less remote parts of the area would be accessible to any vehicle.
