Great dispersed camping close to Dogtown Lake

Camped about 1/2 mile from Dogtown reservoir in Oct of 22. Found a quiet, level spot not to far from the road leading to Dogtown Lake. Spent 4 days/3nights. Lots of forest service cut firewood available on the way in, brought a chainsaw to cut it down to manageable lengths. Fishing at Dogtown was excellent! Got one short of limits of trout (4ea,) in a little over an hour. The best part of it is it's only about 1.5 hours from home.

NOT INVITED, NOT WELCOME

this was our spot to stop after leaving Las Vegas, NV. About 5 miles from the highway there is a residential area that you pass. The corner house is full of signs, like professional road signs. The GPS directed me left and through a gate. The gate said NO TRESSPASSING. PRIVATE PROPERTY. The last sign I saw gave me BAD vibes (pic included). I turned around and realized the OHV signs were turned in the wrong directions. It seems campers are unwelcome in this area. I have never felt so vulnerable/threatened in a boondock area. (I'm a full time RVer). Anyways, highly recommend the spot 25 mins down the 40.

Beautiful place.

Mountain fresh air, stars at night, birds, the squirrels! so beautiful! The lake looks so nice right now! This area has been thinned, for fire prevention. Very little trash to pick up from previous campers. Current day temp is in the 90's, evening temp is in the 50's. The day we were leaving, still packing up, a Huge herd of sheep came through! It was such a beautiful moment.

Great Area to Camp and Enjoy the Lake

This was our first time boondocking in the forest of Williams, AZ.  A friend told us about the free dispersed camping along Dog Town Rd. which is only about 5 miles outside of the cute town of Williams.  There are many spots available to boondocks amidst the cool pines and forest.  Tent camping, RV's, 4x4s, were everywhere.  We give this area 4 stars only because recent logging in the area left some areas with ugly burn piles and stacks of burned wood.  Otherwise, it was a great location.
