Camped in my Subaru. Good spot for quick over night camping or short-term stay. Limited to no shade. Dirt road easily accessible. . Please pick up your trash. Do not leave toilet paper under a rock, next to a bush or dig in it in the dirt (put it in a trash bag!!! - PACK IN PACK OUT!!!

Nice pulloff

FSR 121 came in handy when all the spots at the more highly reviewed 689 were taken, at least what we could comfortably see from the road when we pulled in at night. Went back to main road and headed across to 121. A pullout right behind signs on left side at the start of 121 was flat and decent for a last minute night spot. A bit of traffic from what we assume were people like us, trying to find a good spot after dark, but otherwise fine for a quick RV/van spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of vehicles can access FR121 for camping?

FR121 is accessible via a dirt road that can accommodate various vehicle types. Passenger cars like Subarus have successfully navigated the road, suggesting it's suitable for most standard vehicles. The dirt road is described as easily accessible without requiring specialized off-road capabilities. There are pullout areas that provide flat spots for parking and camping. While high-clearance vehicles might have an advantage, the road doesn't appear to require 4WD under normal conditions.

Where is FR121 located and how do I get there?

FR121 (Forest Road 121) is a dispersed camping area located in a forested region. It's situated near another forest service road (FSR 689). To reach FR121, you'll need to navigate to the main forest road and look for the clearly marked entrance. The campground is identifiable by signs at the beginning of the road, with a pullout on the left side as you enter.

What camping facilities or amenities are available along FR121?

FR121 is a primitive dispersed camping area with minimal to no amenities. There are no developed facilities such as restrooms, water sources, or garbage collection. The area offers several pullout spots for camping, including a flat area near the entrance. Limited shade is available in some spots. Campers should be fully self-sufficient, bringing all necessary supplies including water and waste disposal bags. Remember to pack out all trash and toilet paper as this is a pack-in, pack-out area.

Is camping allowed along FR121 and do I need a permit?

Camping is allowed along FR121 as a dispersed camping area. No specific permit is mentioned as being required for overnight stays. However, campers should follow standard dispersed camping protocols including pack-in, pack-out principles for all trash and waste. Since regulations can change, it's advisable to check with the local Forest Service office before your trip to confirm current permit requirements.
