Great location, pleasant place

Nicely spread out sites among pine trees. Well maintained. No water except from a tank of drinking water and only one pit toilet. Several trails right from the campground. Only 5 miles from Flagstaff. Car traffic can be heard during the day, but very quiet at night. The campground was closed…

  • A short walk from the campground.  This area is popular with rock climbers

Canyon Vista

Quiet & clean campground. Close to town. Nice hiking trails. Cool views. Repelling area. Lots of shade trees, fire pit & rest room. Good size spaces. Friendly hosts.

Nice

Had a lovely stay. The hosts were very nice and attentive, since I was a single camper. They always checked to make sure I made it back from my hikes.

About This Campground

Canyon Vista Campground is located near Walnut Canyon and Lower Lake Mary. This area consists of ponderosa pine, mixed conifer, aspen and oak, which offer good photo opportunities, interesting geology and views of the San Francisco Peaks. The trailhead for Sandys Canyon Trail and the Vista Loop Trail are at the north end of the campground. Sandys Canyon Trail provides access into Walnut Canyon and joins the Arizona Trail.
