Very clean! Really! Amenities in good condition. Good view.

Closer to the Shops, very busy and Crowded, prefer the Mariner One.

Awesome Spot on Homer Spit, Camp Right on the Beach with Awesome Views, was not to Crowded in July. Went Halibut From there and had 7 Humpback Whales surrounding our Boat….. What an Adventure

We had a good stay here in our 40' toy hauler. The power, water, and cable worked good. The rate shown is the total bill for a weekly rate of$321 with taxes and fees added. Some things to note about the park. The whole park slopes downward toward the beach bluff, however they did a reasonable job terracing each site so it is mostly level. As a result each site uphill is 12 to 18 inches higher. The center sites are back to back and they will park your RV even with the electric box at rear, so you may have challenges parking your towed vehicle or tow vehicle at your site depending on your total length, but we managed ok. The lane between rows is narrow. If you"pull through" to your site through an empty one, it is easy. If you have to back in it may be a challenge and you may need to get people to move tow vehicles. Smaller motorhomes and short trailers may not have any issues. We had to have one person move a vehicle to pull out when we left. In fact we left a day early in the afternoon because I wanted to be sure I could get out. If all the guests had been in the park with the tow vehicles or towed park, I could not have pulled out early in the morning without waking people up to move vehicles. We camped at Ocean Shores RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

4.5 stars for this RV park. They have everything you need. Laundry/showers/bathrooms. 50/30 amp electric, sewer, water. Small dog run. They have a fish charter service, as well as fish cleaning stations. They also fillet, vacuum pack freeze and ship your catch. We really enjoyed ourselves here.

Very nice cottage to stay so, while taking rest you can prefer read about Automobile updates.

We are in the shoulder season and most camps on the spit are closed. This one has beautiful views of the bay and there weren’t many people here the night we stayed. We rv camped. Some people brought their horses to the day use side and were riding at sunset.

Owner is very nice and professional. Showers well lit and perfectly clean. Amazing views of the ocean and easy beach access.

We loved everything about this little spot. It’s tucked away, all by itself, (not at a campground), so you trade noisy campsites for incredible views. We backed our 26ft RV in so that the fire pit and picnic table were right behind us. Plenty of room for our truck to stay attached. Great location, better views. The hosts brought us homemade chocolate chip cookies that were delicious and made us feel so welcome! They live nearby so if you have any issues they are just a phone call away. We are already telling all of our friends that if they want a quiet place with great views in Homer this is THE SPOT!

Campground is on hill overlooking wetlands, then ocean beach. Peaceful. Showers and laundry available for extra $. All sites have picnic table, campfire ring. Some under trees, some in more open area. Fish cleaning station available. Very close to Anchor River - a great place to fish for salmon, trout. Bathrooms and laundry room kept clean.

The spots are a bit narrow, but most spots have full hookups, and there is a short trail down to the beach.

The shower rooms are very clean and there is an excellent breakfast restaurant next door.

The spots around the perimeter of the campground have fire rings. The ones in the center do not.

The city closed this campground this year. Seems the police were tired of doing their job. Head to the spit instead.

We stayed on a beachfront site. There’s not much room between sites, but having a beachfront site gave us plenty of room for the kids to run during the day. Low tides make for great fishing, tide pooling, and star fish watching.

There are a few city run campgrounds on the spit in Homer.  This mini peninsula juts a few miles out into Kachemak Bay and creates one of the main tourist areas for the town. This is another of Alaska's pot-holed, parking lot camping areas where tents can be set up just off the perimeter and RVs of any size can take up residence within it. Picnic tables and fire rings lie between the parking and the beach and there’s a general esprit de corps of the folks hanging out there.  

Like many Alaskan camping spots what the site itself lacks in charm, is simply overwhelmed by the spectacular views in any direction. That's why you come here in the first place. The bathroom situation is simple, a couple of port-o-potties with a hand washing station. Recycling and trash dumpsters are right next to the toilets. Water can be filled up for free at the city RV dump station in town, right across from the Post Office on the Sterling Hwy. Payment can be made at the automated permit machine. 

The lack of any trees made solar power a no-brainer, even on the cloudy days. With our solar suitcase from Renogy and 200W of solar on the roof, we were able to recharge our battery without any issues. 

There's a great bike path that leads to the many tourist shops, bars and restaurants on the spit. The spit is also a great launching area for kayaking in the ocean side of the spit- launching on the other bay side can be tricky because of tides and mud. Parking along the spit is pretty easy and there are large lots which allow for overnight parking if you are going to use the area as a launching pad for other adventures either on the Kenai or further afield. Homer is known as a particularly good spot for Grizzly Bear tours into Kobuk Valley National Park (the holy grail of grizzly sightings). Be sure to tour the Alaskan Maritime National Wildlife Refuge Visitor’s Center, it’s difficult to get out to the Aleutian Islands, but through the engaging films and interactive displays, you can get a feel for the history and wildlife of these remote areas. 

Homer has all the services that campers need including grocery stores and good restaurants (we loved Fat Olive and Carmen’s Gelato out on the spit.)  A short drive along East End Road will take you right by Fitz Creek General store, which is a treat for all kinds of cool stuff -- the chocolate muffins alone are worth the drive alone. The village farmer’s market is truly amazing with veggies, baked goods, prepared food, and lots of other arts and crafts.

Yes, we were packed in next to our neighbors, but the location was awesome. We had an inside site (all that was left when we rolled up same day) but we were mainly there to walk around the spit and sleep so it was perfect. The staff there were SO nice and friendly and helpful.

Our second time staying here. There is an amazing ocean and volcano view off a common ground area with a picnic table and fire pit. Eagles soar overhead. Sites are close together but have water, electricity, a small table and fire pit. We didn’t stay in the cabins but they look nice and the property, general store, and washing facilities seem well maintained. Recommend for a night or two when visiting Homer.

We found this by accident looking for a different campground and decided to stay! No electricity or water but the view made up for that. There’s about 15 sites, a bathroom and pay station. Our site was #13 I believe and the view was AMAZING. Overlooking the cook inlet with volcanoes in the distance and bald eagle after bald eagle flying across the view. We watched the “sunset” (May so not fully dark) and it brought a tear to my husbands eye. Great place to stop off on your way to homer.

Campground is well maintained. About 20 min drive from Homer spit. Sites are a little tight but the views are amazing!

I love this park in the street here all the time. I am local and it’s still a beautiful getaway. Incredible views and great tent sites.

Whiskey Point is a small, full hookup, amazing camp ground with the nicest caretakers. The view is spectacular and we had the entire campground to ourselves.
