SUMMARY PRESENTED BY
A first-come, first-served Alaska DNR campground on Cook Inlet, Deep Creek Recreation Area costs $20 per night and includes vault toilets, a water pump, and dumpsters. Sites are back-in only, generally level, and accommodate rigs of most sizes. Some sites sit directly on the beach; others are set back near the creek. Bald eagles are regularly visible from camp, with 10 to 20 or more congregating near the dunes at any given time. Watching tractors haul boats in and out at the adjacent Deep Creek Boat Launch is a notable draw. Campers wanting a different setup nearby can check out Deep Creek North, roughly a mile east along the Sterling Highway.
