Baycrest RV Park

Operated by KoA, this RV park sits about four miles outside Homer with views that extend across Kachemak Bay when weather conditions allow. The facility accommodates RVs up to 45 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections at each site.

Sites run closely together, creating a compact layout that some campers find cramped during the busy summer season. The narrow access roads can present backing challenges for larger rigs, particularly at certain sites. Despite the tight spacing, the elevated location provides expansive bay views that reviewers consistently highlight as a standout feature. Road noise from the nearby highway creates a steady background hum but remains at tolerable levels for most visitors.

The campground serves as a practical base for exploring Homer and the famous Spit, located about 15-20 minutes away by vehicle. Full amenities include clean restrooms, hot showers, laundry facilities, and WiFi access. Staff members receive praise for their helpfulness with both campground operations and local area information. Brad H. notes that "sites are a little tight but the views are amazing."

Well-maintained grounds and reliable utilities make this a functional overnight stop for RV travelers, though those seeking spacious sites may want to consider camping spots near Homer with more room between neighbors.

Guests commonly noted beautiful views and helpful staff at this well-maintained park. Some visitors expressed concerns about cramped sites, though full hookups and decent facilities were appreciated. Located 15-20 minutes from Homer with some highway noise.

Good Option for the Area

Enjoyed this location and without reservations, glad to get it. Had reservation at spit campground that was in horrible shape, un-level, crowded...so passed and took a risk on this one. Very accommodating folks. As others have said, the campground is a good stop with wonderful views if the weather cooperates (it did when I was there in August). With a truck/camper combo, dropping the camper there and using the truck to get to the spit and Homer was 15-20 min. Place is well maintained and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly with campground and local information. Found lots to do in the area. Campground is full/crowded in the summer, but site was nice, functional albeit a challenge to back in with the width of the road at my site. Just off the highway so some noise but tolerable. Decent washer/dryers and showers behind office but no food/although that wasn't an issue as we grocery shopped and ate out at some great seafood places (must do). Incident: There is only one road in/out of Homer. There was a bad accident that closed the road for 24 hours so we had to wait another day to get out. Homer and the Kenai was a great visit.

Inlet View

Great for a quick stay, full hook ups, beautiful view when the weather cooperates, but it’s 9 miles from town, so if you’re in a motor home you’ll need a tow vehicle
