Cool Site!

This is one of the cooler campgrounds you come across along the Skyway loop trail. It is probably only large enough for a single tent but it is situated in a kind of rock cutout area right on the edge of the ridge. It is also kind of hidden away from the trail so you wouldn’t see it unless you are looking for it. Make sure to check out my review of Cheaha Falls Campground where I discuss the entire loop and the best times of year to visit. The site has a firepit and area for a tent that it actually pretty well protected from the elements. I think I would choose this site if I were in the area during winter and it was cold and windy or if I knew there might be a storm coming. The major downside is that it has no access to water like I discussed in my review of Skyways Loop Campground with view. The only consistent water source is probably 1.5-2 miles back along the ridge at the large group campground. If you are coming up from the south though and still have your water pretty full and got a late start this would be a great option to stop and stay for the night.
