Free and hike-in only, this dispersed ridgeline site in Talladega National Forest suits backpackers completing the Skyway Loop trail. Water is the critical planning factor here. No reliable water source exists at the site, and low water levels along the route in winter and midsummer can make resupply difficult, so carrying enough from the start is essential. The site has room for multiple tents, a large firepit with log seating, and open sightlines from the ridge edge. Hammock spots near the drop-off are usable if you have your own gear. Nearby options on the same trail include Small Skyway Loop Campground and Skyway Loop Backcountry Campground. Arrive early to claim the site before other loop hikers do.
