Sitting just off I-10 in Cottondale, Florida, Hitchinpost RV Park and Campground runs $30-$45 per night and provides full hookups with 20, 30, and 50 amp electric service, water, and sewer connections across 17 pull-through sites and 7 back-ins. Pull-throughs extend up to 110 feet, making this a workable stop for large rigs without requiring any unhooking. Reservations are available, and the owner lives on-site in site #1, which means someone is generally around to help with setup.
Interstate noise is the one consistent caveat in reviews. I-10 runs close enough that traffic sound carries, though multiple campers note it did not disrupt their stay. What offsets the highway proximity is the property's layout: two fishing lakes, acreage with biking trails, two fenced dog parks with water, and a small animal area with goats, piglets, and chickens. Kathy H. found it a "nice peaceful two day rest" despite the freeway nearby, and a Love's truck stop sits directly across the street for fuel and supplies.
The owner draws consistent mention across reviews. Keelie M. describes the host as the "absolutely sweetest most amazing camp host," and several other reviewers note she came out personally to greet arrivals and assist with backing in. Discounts apply for military, first responders, seniors 55 and older, and members of Passport America, FMCA, and Escapees. Firewood, WiFi, fishing, and paddle boat use are included at no extra charge, though at least one reviewer flagged the internet as inconsistent.
The road access carries a rough-access warning, so drivers should approach with that in mind, particularly after rain. The park stays open year-round and tends to draw overnight travelers moving along the I-10 corridor, with no full-timers permitted. Campers exploring the Florida Panhandle can find places to camp near Chipley if this location fills up. Booking ahead is the safer move, especially during spring travel season.
