Ohio Department of Natural Resources manages Beaver Creek State Park Campground, a 50-site facility that serves as the main family camping area within the 3,038-acre state park. The campground splits into two distinct sections: pine-shaded sites numbered in the 40s on the left, and more open RV-friendly spots with two rental cabins on the right. Sites 43, 44, and 45 offer the most tree cover, though Aaron B. notes "backing into 44 and 45 would be tricky" for larger rigs.
Six sites provide electric hookups, but the campground operates on well water with limited supply. RVs cannot fill onboard tanks, requiring campers to arrive with full fresh water. The facility features vault toilets that multiple reviewers describe favorably, plus a sun shower building for privacy. Jennifer K. warns that "most of the sites are small and too close together" with "not much room to maneuver a trailer into the narrow uneven pads."
Beaver Creek flows behind the northern loop, creating buggy conditions near stagnant areas but providing fishing access throughout the park. The historic Pioneer Village sits within walking distance, featuring original 1800s buildings including a working grist mill. Multiple trail systems accommodate hiking, biking, and equestrian use, with the Salamander Trail known for spring wildflower displays.
Access requires attention to routing since Echo Dell Road prohibits RVs and trailers. Campers must approach via Leslie Road to avoid getting trapped on unsuitable park roads. Cell service works well for most carriers, and the campground operates year-round with reservations available. For horse camping, Equestrian Camp — Beaver Creek State Park provides 59 primitive sites with tie-ups two miles southeast.
Description
Campground Closed for Renovation: The campground on Leslie Road will be completely unavailable during renovations beginning October 20, 2019. NOTE: A one-lane bridge on Echo Dell Road CANNOT accommodate vehicles with trailers or RVs. You must approach the Park Office, Wildlife Education Center, Gaston's Mill, and Pioneer Village from the south if you are traveling in a large vehicle.
