Moose Brook State Park Campground

New shower and bathroom building was clean. Campsites were well spaced.

We were informed that this was a free (by donation) campground. We stayed one night, intending for two, and in the early afternoon we were greeted by the park manager.

He informed us that the park was not open, but because of the misunderstanding we were okay to stay the night. We decided to be polite and just pack up and find somewhere else.

For anyone curious they open 5/9/2025 for reservations and ACTUAL camping.

Perfect for family camping! Fishing, swimming, river walks, biking and movie nights!

Loved this campground! Quiet and pretty private spots - outer loop a bit more. Great facilities w wash sink - nice camp store and not at all too close to town! 20 min drive to Mt Washington (be sure to check weather as we had rain at the campground which was ice on the mtn so we couldn’t go to top/they stopped us halfway.)

We stayed two nights at P-08 and loved both times. The side we stayed at is more for larger campers and is much quieter than the larger side. Paid showers, that’s a bummer, but we make do. Nice camp store, great access to rivers for fishing. Pulled an 8” brook trout out of a 10’ wide stream onsite. Awesome experience

We booked 2 nights and stayed for 3! Nice small campground with very clean bathrooms and showers! Staff was friendly and mountain biking trails were good and easy to get too.

We did not have reservations so our pick of sites was limited. There are several styles of sites here from tucked in/private to open areas and not so private sites. Bathrooms were clean and there is a nice wash station to do dishes. Campground is well maintained. We came for easy access to mountain biking trails!

I absolutely loved this park. From the natural beauty to the very nice camp office that also serves as the camp store. Don't get me wrong, this is a quaint little park that is mostly for tenters, but we still managed to get our campers in and we're comfortable. This is a no electric hookup and no dump station park, but it's still worth your time. We took our generator and did just fine. Lots of trees, and quiet sites make this camp a peaceful retreat. They have an honest to goodness swimming hole with fresh water running off of the mountain (FYI it's freezing cold, but refreshing) The bathrooms are very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. If you're in the White Mountains and looking for a low key stop, give Moose Brook a try.

Stayed on the larger loop. Nice bathhouse with pay showers. Excellent 2 station set of double sinks for dishwashing. Not great for larger RV or trailers but we found accomodation for our 27 footer.

Clean campground, coin operated showers and supply store open until 8pm.

We stayed at Moose Brook in June 2022 at site 020. We loved it. The showers and bathrooms are some of the cleanest I’ve ever seen (you have to pay for showers). The sites are extremely private but you can hear your site neighbors if they’re talking/laughing loudly. We had Sprint cell reception at the site. It was very affordable and also extremely close to town (Gorham) for restaurants and shopping.

It was opening for the season when we stayed, so it was hard to get a good read on the place.

Fun creek flows through it and it looks like when they fill the swimming hole it looks like a good spot.

Check in staff could not have been nicer.

Near to Mt. Washington

Spots are awesome, lots of trees and very clean. Gets crowded on weekends so you might be a little close to neighbors, but always tress between sites.

Amenities include hot shower (coin operated), dishwasher station, toilets... all very clean.

Spots 001-005 are close to a nice stream, great ambient noise.

Cost is 25$/night which is kinda pricy. But you get what you pay for.

Spent the weekend mountain biking with friends.  Thanks to the Coos Cycling Club and the State Parks system, the mountain bike trails in and around Moose Brook are spectacular.  The park is very clean and well maintained.  We had a very private site, but the other RV sites on the north side of the road seemed a little exposed.

There are no dump facilities on site, however, the Gorham Waste treatment plant will accommodate RV's and trailers.  We did not use those services as it was labor day.

Go here every year. Clean bathrooms and amenities. Good access to hiking, Walmart, and water. :)

We live the layout and the fact our kids can ride their bikes around a circle always fairly near to us.

Staff is always on top of cleaning and helping with anything you need.

Quiet and semi-private lots. The closer to the bathrooms the less private your lot, so there is a trade off. We generally opt for close to bathrooms and showers.

We loved Moose Brook State Park Campground. There are many wooded sites and lots of very private ones too. Some sites rim a grassy field. There’s a newer bathroom with hot water, showers, and a dishwashing station. And the location is perfect for hiking the Randolph Trails or Appalachia.

We stayed here for one night, just to make for easy driving to Mt. Washington in the morning for a hike. The campsite was clean and firewood is offered at the check-in house for $6/bundle. There are bathrooms and sinks. It is easy to drive around, I was in a sedan and we did fine. The camp sites aren't super private, but large enough that we were able to set our tent back from the road a bit.

Stayed three nights in early July. Other than the rain and humidity it was quite enjoyable. Very quiet, restrooms were spotless and the showers very cheap.

Moose Brook State Park was beautiful! The bathroom were super clean they had a washing station that had hot water that’s a awesome plus to help get those dishes super clean. Most of the outer campsite where spread apart we searched out most of the site we loved 5,6,7,8 and the dead end loop 11,12,13 and camp site 37! The inner loop with the wide open field was beautiful but sites had limited amount of separation and just isn’t our speed. The loop/trials across the street was a great walk for the dogs. There is a Walmart close by and tractor supply less then 5 minutes away for forgotten or need supplies. We stayed at campsite 7

Love state parks. This campground is just north bordering the White Mountain NF. Close to northern trailheads. NH take care in keeping their parks orderly.

Nice site. We stayed close to the restrooms and the shower house (.75 for 3 minutes) was close walk as well.

There’s a fishing pond and a swimming pond. Super clean cold mountain water. And there’s an awesome platform for jumping or diving in.

Cool campground, dog friendly. Lots of trails for biking and hiking. Great shaded sites, very clean! Sites were private and staff were friendly and welcoming.

We were welcomed by a lovely little house used as the Ranger station. A fire kept it warm and cozy. The ranger was very pleasant. We bought some fire wood for $6 a bundle… there was a private seller down the road selling it for $4.

Easy check-in. We reserved the last available site and it was near the bathroom which I wasn't that excited about but it was actually quite nice.

Nice bathrooms. Nice Shower building. Good wash-sinks.

Our site appeared to be the only one with 2 fire pits. One of them was a nice cooking/barrel type of set-up that all the other sites had. The second was an older stone and cement pit with a back wall that was perfect for sitting in front of on a chilly October evening.

My husband and I camped here over the long weekend. It was reasonably priced and we had ample space. In addition to our designated spot, we had access to a large open space behind that many people utilized to play games or expand their camping area. We also were able to access the water pump in several spots close by. The bathroom was very clean. They even had an "outdoor" cleaning space to wash our dishes. It was the perfect spot to camp for our day hikes at Mt. Moriah, Mt. Cabot, Bulge and the Horn!

Definitely will come back again!

Large, new Adirondack shelters and tent sites. Get the shelter....only $4 more per day ahd huge! All the facilities are phenomenally well maintained.Clean bathrooms and awesome showers! Love this place!

Great campground! Very clean, private showers, working bathrooms. We stayed on campsite 3, which was right by the babbling brook. You can fall asleep to the sound of the rushing water! Highly recommend!

We found a beautiful, secluded site was quiet and peaceful. The bathrooms and showers are brand new and very nice. We will be fishing in the pond shortly. There is a large common area in the middle that was great for paying catch.

We chose this campground because it was dog friendly. Our site was very private and secluded, but close to bathrooms and showers. Facilities very clean! Quiet and peaceful at night. Very close to NH 4K hikes, and was a great base camp for us! will definitely be back!

We have stayed at Moose Brook State Park a number of times over the years to gain easy access to the hiking trails in the White Mountains. The campground is well run, manned by easy going Rangers, and is hassle free. The sites are large, with a choice of wooded, partially wooded, or open. Sites are level, with the fire ring on the correct side for people with campers. The price is good and on a number of occasions we have seen moose or bear in the area.
