Great Campground !

We booked 2 nights and stayed for 3! Nice small campground with very clean bathrooms and showers! Staff was friendly and mountain biking trails were good and easy to get too.

Very Nice Campground

We did not have reservations so our pick of sites was limited. There are several styles of sites here from tucked in/private to open areas and not so private sites. Bathrooms were clean and there is a nice wash station to do dishes. Campground is well maintained. We came for easy access to mountain biking trails!

Great Spot!

This is an old style campground which we love. Pit toilets are clean and stocked. Campground was very quiet even though most sites were occupied. Great hiking nearby as well as some shorter hiking trails straight out from the campground. We would definitely stay there again!

Great Get-Away

Campground is small and clean. We only stayed 2 nights and felt like we saw and did all it had to offer. Nice hike up Slack Hill!

Never Disappoints !

This is our 4th visit and this year was no exception to how much we like this campground. This year they have all new pit toilets. They were very clean! Sites are generously spaced out. We went “first come, first serve” on a Weds and had no problem getting a site. There were only 3 other campers out of 19 sites. Although most said reserved, there were a lot of no shows which made the campground extremely peaceful and quiet! By Friday, it started to fill up but still very peaceful and quiet. There was no campground host which was a first but there was a park ranger that showed up to clean and stock bathrooms. We had a fabulous hike up the Moosalamoo trail and the weather was perfectly “fall” like. Can’t wait to go back! Wish they were open past Columbus Day weekend.

A new favorite spot!

Like many of the other reviews, I cannot give this a 5 star rating solely for the fact of road noise. We were in site 27 and it was a beautiful site but the road noise from interstate 91 was extremely loud. Otherwise, this campground was perfect! There is a loop designated for tents only (sites 19-24) where the road noise is considerable less. We will try for that area next time. The pros of this campground is the old school charm and it’s cleanliness! Sites are very well maintained and have decent spacing between sites. The mountain biking trails are awesome and the hiking is fantastic! We stayed for 3 nights but next time we will stay longer as there is much to do in the area.

Nice place to stay!

This park has spacious campsites. Electric hookups on 2 of the 3 camping loops. Tent loop does not. Bathrooms are modern and clean. Hiking trails are well maintained. There are 2 boat launches- Kayak launch creek side and large boat launch to the Hudson River. Fridays during the summer they have a fire department food truck in the pavilion area where you can buy hamburgers, hotdogs, sausages, pretzels and more. They also have local live music on Firehouse nights.

A favorite tradition

We camp here every time we go to KY! Gravel level sites. Typically very quiet. Pit toilets in camping loops but there is a bathhouse with showers and flush toilets.

Beautiful!!

What a gorgeous campground! The grounds are full of grass and well manicured. Campsites are gravel and level. We were on a very quiet loop with just 4 electric/water RV sites. We were just doing a travel overnight but definitely will go back to stay a few days! Bathrooms were very clean and the staff was super friendly!

Nice overnight stop

This is a big park. We just reserved one night as as an overnight stop after a 10 hr day of driving. We travel with a dog so our only choice for an electric site was on the Sycamore loop. The Oak loop does not allow pets. Sites we nicely laid out with level gravel and a fire ring. Looks like there lots to do around the park, especially for families.

Great Find!

This is a perfect little campground! Quiet, small and clean. Pit toilet was very clean and well stocked. Animal proof trash disposal was very convenient and newly emptied. Our site was right on the creek and the sound was awesome for sleeping. Biggest surprise, given the location on the creek and remoteness of the campground ( settled deep in the woods) , there were No Bugs to speak of! Tons of wildflowers and butterflies! We stayed 3 nights and could have stayed more if we had more time.

Extended Stay

We liked this campground we stayed an extra night. We are in a camper van so hiking trails accessible by foot from the campground is a plus for us so we don’t have to pack up each time we venture out. The Black Water Falls were also within walking distance and beautiful to see.

Peaceful and Beautiful

This campground is very well maintained. Bathrooms and showers are very clean. Sites are spacious and well placed.

3rd time returning!

This has become a favorite spot! 19 sites, most are FF. Extremely quiet campground. Clean pit toilets. Great camp hosts. Very clean and spacious sites.

Happy Surprise

Some of the designated sites are on off shoots of the main camping loops so more primitive (out house, no running water) sites are available for booking. I prefer boondocking and the ability to reserve these off the path sites gave peace of mind over the first come, first serve option.

Cleanest KOA we ever stayed at!

Spotless bathrooms and sites! We were only passing through and needed one night to stay. Arrived after office hours but late arrival registration was easy and we got a site no problem. Showers and bathrooms were spotless. Dog walk and park were also very clean. Nice to see since many “dog walk areas” are filthy and people don’t clean up after their pets. Not the case here!

Beautiful State Park, decent campsites

Park is well maintained and lots to do activity wise(especially if you have kids). We just stopped for the night passing through on a long road trip. Site was clean and level ( we are in a sprinter van) and fit just perfect. Road noise form I-80 is loud. Bathrooms were very outdated but ok.

Great campsite for climbers

Nice private campground. Bathrooms were clean and recently remodeled. Host is extremely nice and welcoming. We have stayed here on multiple occasions when in the Rumney area for climbing and biking.

Beautiful Campground

So Far, the best campground we stopped at on our 2 week traveling adventure. EXTREMELY clean! Best hot showers! Beautiful open sites and no bugs. Planned in one night but stayed for 2!

Quiet camping

Quiet 50 site campground on Rangeley Lake. Sites are well spaced with plenty of woods in between for privacy. We were not able to get a water site so we missed out on kayaking. Chris, the manager at check in was extremely nice and helpful.
