Mountain Bike Heaven

Spent the weekend mountain biking with friends.  Thanks to the Coos Cycling Club and the State Parks system, the mountain bike trails in and around Moose Brook are spectacular.  The park is very clean and well maintained.  We had a very private site, but the other RV sites on the north side of the road seemed a little exposed.

There are no dump facilities on site, however, the Gorham Waste treatment plant will accommodate RV's and trailers.  We did not use those services as it was labor day.

Quiet - A Work in Progress

My wife and really enjoyed our stay at this park. Esthetically it is a little rough around the edges, so as we pulled in our first impressions were not great. However, the site we were in was quite nice with enough room for 22' camper. Our site was wooded, and would have been tight for a larger rig. There are sites in an open area much better suited for bigger rigs. They do not provide much in the way of privacy however.

The bathouse was really clean and nice for those not self contained.

The owner Troy made a point to stop in as we were getting ready to check out. Super nice guy. He and his wife just bought the park last year, and work is ongoing. My wife and look forward to see how this park matures under the new ownership. We will definitely return.

Beautiful Rustic Camping

We had Site 9, which seems to be one of the least popular RV sites. Personally, I was pretty happy with the site as it was fairly private. Campground has a potable water fill amd sanitation dump, both clean and well maintained. The grounds are kept well, and the coastal scenery was absolutely breath taking.

A note about mosquitos. This is Northern Maine, and you should expect mosquitoes. We came armed with Deep Woods Off, and happy to have it. We set up the screen structure the first night, but put it away as we were not using it.

We will definitely return to this campground.

Best Camping Experience This Year

Lori and all the other folks run a beautiful campground with a cool old school vibe. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves so much that we immediately booked the same site of a return trip in the fall. The Anaconda of a rope swing near the office is a must. So is watching the sunset from the chairs overlooking the channel.

Beautiful and Quiet

There is not much I can add to the other reviews. The park is clean and quiet, and the sites are mostly level. The sites are maintained by Camp Hosts, folks who set up camp for a while, and clean the sites when you vacate. So, if you stay here be sure to thank your host. I highly recommend this park.

RV, Glamp, or Tent

I am really still new to the whole travel trailer thing. We had a full hook up site, mixed in with a bunch of vintage campers. It was Vintage Camper weekend afterall. While the sites are not super spread out, they are not right on top each other either. This campground is immaculate. Everyone we encountered from campers to staff were super friendly. For those so inclined, there is great mountain biking either through the Tyler Preserve down to Cape Porpoise or North through the Emmitt Smith Preserve. While I love the having all the emmenities, I think we would have enjoyed one of the electric only sites closer to the Marsh. Highly recommend the whole experience though.

Great Beer, Great Food and Great People

My wife and I just spend an overnight here.  The brewery is really cool, and the wood fired pizza is some of my favorite.  The folks who run this place are really friendly and accommodating. Both my wife an I really enjoyed ourselves.

This is definitely an RV park.  The sites are close together, with full hookups.  50, 30, and 20 Amp, water and sewer.  We had a pull through site which worked really well for newbies like my wife and I. They also appear to have a few cabins which look super cute.

If there is a down side to the park it would be the road noise.  You are right off of Rt. 27, which is the main road into Boothbay Harbor.  The upside is you can easily ride the bike lane into town for some exploring without having to deal with tourist parking.  Especially in the summer time, parking is at a premium.

If you are looking for fun weekend with great beer and food, this is definitely worth the trip.
