Walmart — Rock Springs Supercenter

Free overnight parking at this Rock Springs Supercenter puts travelers on I-80 within reach of a working Walmart and a Starbucks next door. No reservation is needed. The lot has cell service and trash service on-site, and pets are welcome, with at least one reviewer noting a grassy strip nearby suited for dogs. Big rigs have room to maneuver.

Campers consistently park toward the far edge of the lot, away from the entrance, where the lighting remains adequate but foot traffic is minimal. Some road noise carries from the highway. The lot draws a mix of RVs, camper vans, and passenger vehicles, particularly when I-80 sees closures or weather delays. Seeing other overnight rigs in the lot is common, and several reviewers mentioned that the presence of fellow travelers added a sense of security. "Quiet night and slept well," notes MATTHEW R.

For those routing through southern Wyoming, High Desert Storage & RV Park offers a more traditional RV setup a couple of miles northeast, and the Sweetwater Fairgrounds provides another nearby option. Campers wanting a broader look at camping near Rock Springs can find additional listings across the region. For a straightforward overnight stop with basic amenities and easy highway access, this lot covers the essentials.

Walmart stay

There was plenty of room for several RVs. We were able to park at the far edge of the parking lot. There was a nice grassy area next to the RV for our dog.

A cozy place

My first time at a Walmart ever, well at least sleeping there. So far it's a good experience, I'm at a place where you can hear the road noise, but that's okay. The parking lot is quiet and everybody seems to be at peace. For my first parking lot experience at Walmart - this is a good one.

great spot for a first time overnight

this was our first overnight at a walmart and it was great. lots of space far from the entrance with a lot of other camper vans and trailers. right across the way was a starbucks as well so perfect for early morning breakfast and coffee (or matcha in my case). felt safe and well lit even though far from the building. also nice that it’s a little inset from the main road

Safe spot during a blizzard

I-80 was shutdown on my way through and I was stuck in Rock Springs for the night. It was a safe enough spot to hunker down. Lots of RVs and vehicles doing the same.
