Shelter Point — Glendo State Park

With reservations available at $10 per night, Shelter Point operates as an elevated campground within Glendo Reservoir State Park, managed by Wyoming Department of Parks and Cultural Resources. The campground sits on a peninsula above the high water line, providing protection from potential flooding while offering direct lake access. Each of the sites includes a picnic table, fire pit, and vault toilet access, with a single water pump serving the area.

The location accommodates RVs up to 160 feet and maintains ADA accessibility across its open terrain. A pavilion positioned at the peninsula's point overlooks Glendo Reservoir, while cell service remains available throughout the campground. Campers can explore additional campgrounds around Glendo Reservoir State Park or visit nearby Sagebrush — Glendo State Park located half a mile west. Book early, as this tends to be the first campground in the park to reach capacity.

Hands down the best.

This is the best of the campgrounds in the park and its not even close. This will be the first one to fill up guaranteed. First off its above the high water line so you are safe from flash flooding. Its also elevated up on a peninsula so you have stunning bluff over water views. The pavilion at this campground is at the pointe overlooking the lake, its fit for a picturesque wedding. Same amenities as the other sites, single water pump, vault toilet, picnic tble and fire pit at each site. Make this your first choice
