Pony Soldier RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Situated along US Highway 26 about five miles east of Fort Laramie, Pony Soldier RV Park runs from May through September and accepts RVs up to 75 feet with full hookups at each site. The 52 RV sites are level, mostly gravel or packed dirt, and some have shade. A separate tent area is available. Reservations are accepted, and the campground is cash only, with 30-amp service running $45 per night as of recent visits. Pets are allowed.

Noise is worth factoring into your plans. A railroad line runs directly across the road, with trains passing roughly every 40 minutes into the evening. Highway traffic adds a second layer of ambient sound. The campground has a community area with three grills and a fire pit, picnic tables scattered across sites, and a laundry facility. An on-site history museum is a notable feature that sets it apart from other camping near Lingle options in the region. The owner and staff receive consistent praise across reviews.

Facility quality has varied over time. A 2023 visit flagged shower pressure and maintenance issues, but a more recent stay described a noticeably improved experience. "Everything is clean and well manicured," notes Brandon L., adding that hookup infrastructure was in solid working order. WiFi is available on-site. Nearby alternatives include Brett's Rv Park to the southeast and Chuck Wagon RV Park to the northwest. This campground works best for RV travelers passing through eastern Wyoming who want full hookups and a convenient highway stop.

Quiet RV park

Personnel were very friendly. Parking is on dirt but it’s level and well packed sand. Full hookups at each site. Everything is clean and well manicured. Electric pedestals, water spigots, and sewer hookups are in excellent condition and easy to use. Picnic tables at most sites. I would definitely stay here again.

Ok if just want a place to sleep for a night

Staff is extremely friendly. I took a shower immediately upon arrival and it was not a good experience. There were 3 stalls for women with no shower curtains covering each stall. Only 1 stall actually worked (barely). It took up to 7 minutes for the water to get warm and the pressure was a trinkle at best. I could not wash my hair because I would never get the soap out. Parking pad is dirt and weeds. Limited picnic tables. No fire pits. No propane. The train is across the road and loud horns. The last train we heard was 10p and it rain approximately every 40 minutes. Cash only to pay for site-$45 for 30 amp. The sunset was beautiful.
