Hatchet/Flagstaff Area

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Seclusion comes quickly here. Head up Hatchet Road off the main highway and the road noise drops away within a short distance, leaving sites that multiple reviewers describe as clean and noticeably quiet after dark. The campground sits within Teton National Forest and includes electric hookups, drinking water, picnic tables, and trash service, making it a workable base for campers who want amenities without the density of sites inside Grand Teton. Mosquitoes are a consistent presence, so bring repellent regardless of season. Nearby, Hatchet Campground provides another option along the same corridor for campgrounds near Teton National Forest.

Good Site

Good site, we camped at one of the free national forest sites just a bit up the hatchet road. A few mosquitoes but really enjoyed the seclusion of the site. Not much highway noise up the road.

Peaceful at night

Near main road, but quiets down after dusk. Mosquitos, flowers and butterflies, rustic, and clean campsites. Sime small, some big, but not many. Hosts were very nice and helpful.

Quiet Campground Off Beaten Path

Clean quiet campground just outside Grand Teton Park. Only issue: the mosquitos were a little aggressive at this site, as opposed to other sites that we camped at in the park. Nice one to keep in the back pocket if you're looking to avoid the crowds.
