Rocky roads lead into Frye Lake Camping, a dispersed fee area ($5) set within Shoshone National Forest outside Lander, Wyoming. The site has around 15 spots, some equipped with bear boxes and fire rings, plus a vault toilet in serviceable condition and direct lake access. Cell coverage is limited to Starlink only, with no AT&T or T-Mobile signal. Bug activity has been reported as moderate in summer. Campers wanting larger dispersed sites may prefer continuing roughly two miles further up the road, where Frye Lake - Dispersed Campsites provides more space. This area works best for self-sufficient campers comfortable with rough road access and minimal amenities.
