Boaters and anglers find direct water access at Lake of the Falls County Park, where three separate camping areas offer different experiences along the shoreline. The campground divides into distinct sections, with Area 1 providing electric hookups, Area 2 featuring tent-only sites without electricity, and Area 3 housing the shower facilities and dump station.
Sites in Area 2 sit directly on the water, allowing campers to launch boats right from their campsites. A walking trail connects the camping areas and leads to nearby waterfalls, while a bridge provides access between sections. The Popular Side 3 - Lake of the Falls sits just northeast for those wanting additional amenities.
Facilities remain basic across all areas. Showers require quarters and are located only in Area 3. Cell service proves spotty throughout the park, with reliable Verizon coverage available in town. Art S. found it "a peaceful place to camp" despite the minimal signage making the entrance difficult to locate.
The park sits about 15 minutes from Mercer, where campers can find supplies and stronger cell signals. For those wanting more developed facilities, Turtle Flambeau Scenic Waters Area provides additional camping options to the south.
