Solitude

This was perfect. Very rustic campground. I was actually the only one here this weekend. Only noise is from the wind turbine in the middle of the lake. It has lots of fish but I was a little late in the season to catch too much. Saw lots of good trout swimming by the bank. Bonus of this campground is the boardwalk to the other lake. Small little lake where it is just peaceful. Loads of stars here! Lots of trails to hike. I spent the day hiking the Round Lake trail and had it all to myself.

This campground is a true gem...I would highly suggest it. Site 8 is a larger site that would be used for a double group...but it was perfect for sunset. Most sites have a way to the water and some have stairs down to the water.

Trout stocked lake

Campground is pretty typical of the national forest type. Which translates to “really great!”love this woodsy spot in the Wisconsin north woods. Great little fishing lake too with stocked trout.

Quiet with beautiful sunsets on a small lake

What a wonderful place to relax! Some sites by the lake have good views but all are nice. Sites on the forest side had longer grass. A pump house is a source for fresh drinking water. Two vault toilets are really clean and surprisingly bug free.

The forest road is mostly paved with only a short stretch of smooth gravel. We passed by many small lakes and other wet/pond areas. This must be a factor in the large number of mosquitoes here. A boat launch is right in camp. The only other campers are a family who brought their own trailer of canoes. A hiking trail starts at the entrance and goes around Round Lake. An informative sign maps the route. We saw deer and fawn, rabbits and so many mallards in a couple hikes.

This is a wonderful spot but bring something to keep the mosquitoes at bay.
