LOGE Westport

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at LOGE Westport, a privately operated property in Westport, Washington, where nightly rates run $50 to $135 depending on accommodation type. The layout is compact. Drive-in RV sites sit on a large gravel lot with electric and water hookups, while covered tent sites each provide a picnic table and a sand-filled pad under a three-walled canvas structure, functioning more like a carport than a traditional campsite. Hotel and hostel rooms round out the options on the same small footprint.

Shared amenities are central to the experience here. A communal kitchen area includes grills, prep surfaces, sinks, and cookware, and reviewers have used it to cook freshly caught crab after fishing nearby. Two Traeger grills are available, though during busy periods both can be in use at once. WiFi is inconsistent away from the main lodge building. Campfires are allowed at communal fire rings rather than individual sites, and the women's restroom includes a heater, a detail one reviewer called "really nice in the middle of the night." Cell service reliability is unclear from available reviews.

The property draws surfers and social campers. A stage and open field between the sites host live music on summer weekends, giving the grounds an active, communal atmosphere that suits some visitors more than others. Crowding has come up in multiple reviews, particularly around shared equipment and seating. Pets are welcome. Campers wanting a more traditional setup can browse campgrounds near Westport or consider nearby alternatives like Surf Spray Motel and RV Park to the north.

Oversold and mediocre

A bit disappointed by this place. A bit oversold. Looks better on paper. Kind of a jack of all trades master of none type of place. There are rv sites which are nowhere near as big as advertised. They do have full hookups. WiFi is worthless unless you go to the lodge. They give the wrong info for passwords etc. and when told shrug and say “we can’t figure it out”. The cafe is ok but not much of a selection. They do have covered tent sites and lodging as well but I didn’t use either. The traeger grills are nice but there are only two. So if it’s busy you might be out of luck. There are two picnic tables for the entire place. The common areas might be nice in a non-pandemic world but now they just look forlorn. I think this is a big surfer spot or is trying to be. I doubt I’ll be coming back.

Fun in Westport!

An ad for LOGE is what motivated me to go on my first camping trip. It ended up my 2nd trip (first was at Twin Harbors). I love the option of the covered campsites. Each covered campsite has a picnic table and sand box that serves as the pad for your tent (much more comfortable than the ground). The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. People staying at the campsite were very friendly and sociable. The women's bathroom has a heater and it kept on, really nice in the middle of the night when you got to pee and you have to leave your cozy tent. The community kitchen was great for cooking my crabs after catching them, it's fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans. They have communal traegar grills as well and stock the pellets for them. One thing to note is all the fire rings are communal vs other campgrounds I've seen where each campsite has their own fire ring. Bonus: there's a really friendly pig that lives down the street than came to visit. Really adorable my dogs didn't know what to do.

Hipster and over priced

This place was a great idea that just tried to do too much, then charged too much. They have a hotel, a hostel, covered camping, open camping and rv parking all in a very tiny spot. The van/rv parking is just a large gravel lot with power and i think water hookups. We only used power. The covered tent sites are very odd. Like camping in a carport. One table, one tent, 3 walls and a permanent canvas tarp overhead. Our parents stayed in a hotel room which was nice, very hipster instagram cute. We also checked out the hostel space and it seemed great. Probably the best deal here since you get all the shared extras for less cost. The big draws here are the shared amenities, a field between the tents and vans with a stage where they often have bands in the summer. A communal cooking area with grills, prep area and sinks and inside they serve coffee and beer in the morning and afternoon respectively. I followed and donated to these guys when they were on kickstarter pitching it as a place for surfers to hang and an alternative to the rv laden state parks. Then when it finally happened it was at prices that surfers would rather stay at the state parks than pay extra for less space. I think they got their wires crossed. But for what they are they do it right. Pay a little extra and post lots of photos of almost camping.
