Frenchman Coulee Overland Overlook Dispersed Campsite

Managed by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, this paid dispersed site sits at the rim of Frenchman Coulee, giving campers open sightlines across the Columbia Basin plateau. The access road is rough enough that scouting ahead before pulling in with a trailer is worth the time. RVs are limited to 15 feet, though at least one reviewer reports finding space with a larger rig by choosing carefully among the available pullouts.

Wind is a constant here. There is no shade. What the site trades in comfort it returns in unobstructed views of sunrises and sunsets across the coulee rim, along with cell service for those who need it. Tim H. calls it "perfect for Overland type vehicles," and the exposed, rocky character of the area backs that up. Campfires are allowed, pets are welcome, and trash service is provided. The nearest vault toilets are roughly a mile away, so plan accordingly.

Compared to sites closer to the climbing areas, this overlook draws fewer people, though it rarely sits empty.
