Disappointing

We arrived today (July 2019) at this campsite and found a rather desolate place. It looked deserted and messy. So we moved on to Vantage. The RV park there is okay if you pitch your tent just for the night.

Great camping area!

I have stayed here many times. It is an ohv area so weekends, especially holiday weekends, can get loud and crowded. During the week it is very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views of the saddleback mountains. Store and gas station about 2 miles down the road. Columbia river about 2 miles down the road.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where are Beverly Dunes located in Washington state?

Beverly Dunes is located in central Washington state, near the Columbia River. The dunes sit approximately 2 miles from the Columbia River and feature beautiful views of the Saddle Mountains in the background. For visitors seeking supplies, there's a store and gas station about 2 miles away. The nearby town of Vantage offers alternative accommodation options. The location provides a relatively accessible desert environment within Washington's diverse landscape.

What camping facilities are available at Beverly Dunes?

Beverly Dunes offers primitive camping with minimal facilities. This is primarily an OHV recreation area, so amenities are limited. There are no developed campsites with tables or fire rings, and visitors typically set up camp directly on the sandy terrain. Basic necessities like a store and gas station are located approximately 2 miles from the dunes. The area is suitable for those seeking a no-frills camping experience, particularly for off-road enthusiasts who prioritize riding access over campground amenities.

Can you ride ATVs at Beverly Dunes?

Yes, Beverly Dunes is specifically designated as an OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) area where ATV riding is permitted and is the primary recreational activity. The sandy terrain makes it ideal for off-road vehicles, particularly on weekends when the area becomes busier with riders. Holiday weekends can get especially crowded and noisy with ATV enthusiasts. For a quieter riding experience, consider visiting during weekdays when there's significantly less traffic and noise from other riders.

How do Beverly Dunes compare to other sand dunes in Washington?

Beverly Dunes offers a more rustic, OHV-focused experience compared to other Washington dune areas. While it provides beautiful views of the Saddle Mountains and access to the Columbia River, it may appear more desolate than other dune systems in the state. Vantage, which is nearby, offers alternative camping options that some visitors find more developed and suitable for overnight stays. Beverly Dunes tends to be busier and louder on weekends due to OHV activity, while maintaining a peaceful atmosphere during weekdays. For those specifically seeking OHV recreation, Beverly Dunes provides dedicated riding opportunities that not all Washington dune areas offer.
