Anglers and wildlife watchers find Lake Ellen East Campground operates along the shoreline of a good-sized lake in Colville National Forest. The Forest Service manages this 11-site campground with a single-lane gravel loop road that accommodates tents and small campers best. Each site includes a picnic table, fire pit, and tent pad, with vegetation providing separation between spots.
Access to the lake for fishing and swimming requires only a short walk from campsites. Rainbow trout fishing draws visitors, while waterfowl viewing opportunities occur regularly around the water. The campground lacks drinking water and has vault toilets available. A boat ramp sits at the lake's west end near Lake Ellen West Campground. Dogs stay welcome on leash, and the $6 nightly fee operates on a first-come, first-served basis during the Memorial Day through Labor Day season.
