Campground location: Powhatan State Park's camping area is situated away from the main park entrance. "Campground is waaayyy back in the back of park. Only a few years old. No full hookup (yes 30/50 amp). Well maintained trails, level sites. No river access in campground," explains Ashley I. from Powhatan State Park Campground.

Seasonal accessibility: The campgrounds maintain year-round operations with varying conditions. "We stayed during the week in October. It was warm enough during the day and got a bit chilly at night," shares Jessica T.

Site leveling challenges: Some campsites require additional effort to level equipment. "Sites are very spacious and good distance between other campers. Nice privacy. Large Bath house dump stations were great. Some sites were very level. We were on site seven which was very long but very unlevel," reports Jim L.

Site selection strategy: For optimal camping experience, reserve early and choose sites carefully. "Every camper's dream spot. Seriously, this modern giant state park has it all: mostly private sites, a paved road for biking, plenty of tree cover (even in winter)... Site 118 was perfect for our camper van. Could see one site across the road but other neighbors were mostly hidden," advises N P.
