Strategic Location for peaceful camping with lots of nearby options. Camping is very primitive and rustic as new amenities come online in planned future. The best time of booking is the weekend at present.

We have:

Wooded/Grassy hills with plenty of tree cover and open space to spread out . A uniquely positioned community fire pit is available with an impressive view. It is very rustic and primitive, but well kept, quiet, secluded, with developing surroundings.

There is direct access to Jefferson National Forest and miles of hiking, biking and horseback trails. Equestrians encouraged, but is Bring your own horse and Tie Line.

Nearby sites include Bark Camp Lake, Guest River Gorge, Bear Rock, Little Stony Falls, Chief Benge Trail, Devils Bath Tub, and High Knob. We are also located along several driving and scenic routes to include: Backroads of the Cumberland's, Appalachian Backroads, Virginia Wildlife and Birding Trail, and Thomas Jefferson Scenic Byway (Rt. 72). In addition, within a short drive there is an ATV trailhead in the local town. The Clinch River is not far at all as well.

There is a small quaint downtown less than 5 miles with grocery, gas, supplies, and a few places to eat.

Mission:

The original idea for CR Adventure Outpost came many years ago. We grew up visiting "Grandma & Grandpa" in Wise County and developed a deep love for the area, the outdoors, and all it had to offer. There came a point, , when we realized that the amount of outdoor activities and authentic cultural experiences could indeed support visitors. It could also support many business opportunities once everyone became aware of what was all around them. At that point, a process began of research and planning on ideas some thought were pointless. People deeply want to get back to nature and withdrawal from a fast paced materialistic society, at least long enough to realize what is really important in life. There is a huge need and vast opportunity to take advantage of the many beautiful landscapes in Southwest Virginia.



Cliffhanger Ranch Adventure Outpost

"I'm Your Huckleberry"...the famous words of Tombstone star, Val Kilmer, are words that will make you think of a rustic, simpler time full of cowboys, horses and saloons.  This glamping site's theme will be a little bit of all of the above.  Play a game of horseshoes with the family or maybe have a friendly game of poker by the campfire!  Or you can just simply enjoy the peace and quiet while cooking a delicious campfire dinner.  

We have 6 glamping sites, an Escape Room, a jump pillow and playground for the kids, a seasonal corn maze with a haunted house, hayrides, a tube slide, a big red barn for events (available for an additional fee) and so much more!  We are located less than 5 minutes away from the Bristol Motor Speedway, 15 minutes away from Bass Pro Shops (Bristol), The Pinnacle (shopping, dining and Just Jump Trampoline Park) and a quick 75 minute drive to action-packed Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg!  Make sure to visit State Street in Bristol...where you can literally stand with one foot in Tennessee and the other foot in Virginia at the same time!  While you are there, you may want to visit the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, the Paramount Center for the Arts and the Cameo Theater.  More of a lake or outdoorsy person?  Visit South Holston or Boone Lake.

Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Smoking, vaping and tobacco use are not permitted inside the glamping tents. Pets are allowed outside of the tents if they have crates and / or leashes.  You are responsible for cleaning up after you pets during your stay.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. 

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

We also have restrooms located inside the barn for your convenience.  Bedding is available during your stay for an additional $25 upcharge. The campground is located in Jonesville Virginia on a large creek in the woods. We have unlimited camping spots and can accommodate large groups. Picnic tables available. All fires must be inside the campground an inside a fire pit. Fresh spring water is provide but necessary to treat if used for drinking. Firewood can be provided for a small fee. No cutting of live trees are allowed but you can pick up dead limbs. We live on sight so should you need anything just ask. Enjoy your stay!!!

While providing a quiet farm setting, we are near the Bristol Motor Speedway, Bass Pro Shops (Bristol), The Pinnacle (shopping, dining and Just Jump Trampoline Park) and close enough to take a day trip to action-packed Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg! 

Make sure to visit State Street in Bristol...where you can literally stand with one foot in Tennessee and the other foot in Virginia at the same time! While you are there, you may want to visit the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, the Paramount Center for the Arts and the Cameo Theater.  Also perfectly positioned for day trips to the Virginia Creeper Trail, South Holston Lake and Boone Lake! On the farm property, there is a jump pillow and playground for the kids, a seasonal corn maze with a haunted house, hayrides, a tube slide, a big red barn for events (available for an additional fee) and so much more!

Tentrr Signature Site - The Nest

The place where the first permanent British colony in mainland North America was founded in 1607, Virginia is a state with an exceptional history and abundant natural attractions. From colonial towns and Revolutionary and Civil War battlefields to various Presidential Homes, including one that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, history is never far away when camping in Virginia. Nature, too, is an intricate part of Virginia’s state identity.


On the coast, you’ll find several state parks and wildlife refuges. Additionally, there are significant historic sites such as Colonial National Historical Park, which includes Historic Jamestown and the Yorktown Battlefield.
Across Chesapeake Bay, a calm wave-less bay, lie popular Cape Charles and glorious Assateague Island National Seashore with its feral horses galloping along the beaches. All around Chesapeake Bay, extensive sand beaches and shallow water attract huge crowds of sunbathers and families camping in Virginia over Summer break.

Shenandoah National Park, protecting a section of the Blue Ridge Mountains’ crest, is an outdoor playground for hikers, cyclists, wildlife watchers and road trippers alike. The only road through the park is Skyline Drive, a world-class mountain road lined with trails, campgrounds, a couple of historic lodges, and more than 70 overlooks.


At the park’s southern entrance, Skyline Drive links up with the equally scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. Connecting Shenandoah with Great Smoky Mountains National Park in North Carolina, its 469 miles make it the longest linear park in America. From historic homesteads and the Blue Ridge Music Center to viewpoints, hiking trails and waterfalls like Crabtree Falls, its numerous attractions, combined with free access, make this the most visited unit in the entire National Park Service system.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Smoking, vaping and tobacco use are not permitted inside the glamping tents. Pets are allowed outside of the tents if they have crates and / or leashes.  You are responsible for cleaning up after you pets during your stay.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property. 

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). We also have restrooms located inside the barn for your convenience.  Bedding is available during your stay for an additional $25 upcharge.  You are encouraged to bring your own bedding to fit a queen size bed.  Propane heat is also available for $10 per night.

Tentrr Signature Site - Field of Dreams at The Stickley Farm

The glamping tents are located on a beautiful, family-owned and operated farm.  However, this is not your normal everyday farm!  We have 6 glamping sites, an Escape Room, a jump pillow and playground for the kids, a seasonal corn maze with a haunted house, hayrides, a tube slide, a big red barn for events (available for an additional fee) and so much more!  We are located less than 5 minutes away from the Bristol Motor Speedway, 15 minutes away from Bass Pro Shops (Bristol), The Pinnacle (shopping, dining and Just Jump Trampoline Park) and a quick 75 minute drive to action-packed Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Gatlinburg!  Make sure to visit State Street in Bristol...where you can literally stand with one foot in Tennessee and the other foot in Virginia at the same time!  While you are there, you may want to visit the Birthplace of Country Music Museum, the Paramount Center for the Arts and the Cameo Theater.  More of a lake or outdoorsy person?  Visit South Holston or Boone Lake.

This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! 

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Breath of Dawn 

Our campsite is located right next to the Watauga River. Relax and unwind to the sounds of running water. Nearby you'll find plenty of outdoorsy and adventurous things to do. All within a 20-minute drive, you'll find Buffalo Mountain Park and Jacob's Nature Park for some nice hikes with wildlife, creeks to walk over, and blooming plants. Johnson City and Elizabethton are within a short drive where you'll find restaurants and some shops.  You can fish on the river, but please be mindful of the water level -see generating schedule. Swimming is at your own risk. 

There is steep grade and you will need all wheel drive to make it back up. Drive directly to the site at your own risk. Otherwise parking from site is about no more than a 1/4 mile, about a five minute walk. Firewood is included.

Other Things to Note:
Please be careful near the river during generating and certain times of the year, it can move extremely fast! Always keep close to the land. There is no lifeguard on site so swimming is at your own risk. 
Bring bug spray! 
Please leave your trash tied up in the trash can. If you leave the site a mess there will be a cleaning fee.
You can drive right up the site most days of the year, unless there has been a heavy down pour the road might be a bit muddy.
