North Fork Camping Area is for dispersed camping.
This was my first time at this campground and it was great! It’s close to hiking, wild horses, the u-dig trilobite digging center, the sink hole. Great for a weekend getaway. We were there mid-May so the temperature was perfect, but it was windy. You can see all the stars on a clear night
Things you should know: No reservations, it’s first come first serve There is one pavilion for a bunch of camping sites (this is your only source of shade so bring sunscreen) Bring your own water Dog-friendly, but there are lots of people passing through during the day. There is a bathroom in site Make sure you have good tires and drive slow, the rocks destroyed our tires
Horses, hiking, large family areas, things to do here year round.
Spring-summer-fall-winter you can ski and snowshoe in the winter and camp, hike, bike, ride horses, the rest of the year.
