Another pretty site close to the Provo River but closer to the road

This is another campsite that lies almost right off of Mirror Lake Hwy. Cobblerest CG has 18 single sites you can camp at and has a no ATV policy which is a nice plus when compared to the loud motors you will hear all night long at some of the other campgrounds on the weekend. The proximity to the road is a turnoff for us as it destroys the peace, serenity, and seclusion that can be gained through a short backpack trip or a visit to one of the more secluded CG's along Mirror Lake Hwy.

This site isn't without its perks though as during early summer when its not insanely hot and dry as it was this last year you can find ample raspberry bushes throughout the campground and close to the Provo River which is a very short <5 minute walk from most of the campsites. Camping here is a little steep especially if you're used to free sites. It is $21 a night which doesn't include the mandatory Mirror Lake Hwy Recreation Pass which is $6 for 3 days and $12 for the week. If you have an America the Beautiful Interagency Pass this will cover the recreation pass but not the camping fee.

where's the water

The campsite was clean and there was a lot available on Sunday afternoon. My only real concern was that the website said there was drinking water, but I couldn't find any where short of the river tro get water out there.

It was hard to pack up and leave

This has to be one of my favorite campgrounds ever! From big spacious sites to the sound of the Provo River running next to your camp, there is nothing about this campground not to like. Sies number three, six and eight are the absolute best but nowhere in the campground would be bad. It was a 20 minute drive back to cell service and gas and groceries. Within 20 minutes the other direction, you can be at any one of dozens of Alpine Lakes. You won’t regret Camping here!

Great location on the river

The scenery was gorgeous, the campsite was large and provided enough distance from neighbors. Our site was right on the river Which allowed for even prettier views and some fun wading. The bathrooms were clean for campsite bathrooms. Overall a nice and chill site
