Perfect location

We have been using this campground for 25 years. It's the perfect location. All campsite lower are too hot and anything higher are too small an too close together.

This listing needs to be updated because there hasn't been water at this location for 15 years.

Very nice campsites, hosts were super nice

I did an overnight here on Memorial Day weekend at campsite 13. The campsites were very nice, there are 2 pit restrooms, each campsite has a fire pit with a heavy duty grill top and a picnic table. There were plenty of flat spots for our tent. The only gripes I had are that it's right next to the road, and the river is pretty shallow and, as far as I can tell, there aren't any fish to be had unless you walk up or down river, maybe. Oh, and buy your firewood in Kamas. It's $7 a bundle from the hosts, $3 a bundle in Kamas, and you go through it faster than you think. Other than that, it's a beautiful area.

Another pretty site close to the Provo River but closer to the road

This is another campsite that lies almost right off of Mirror Lake Hwy. Cobblerest CG has 18 single sites you can camp at and has a no ATV policy which is a nice plus when compared to the loud motors you will hear all night long at some of the other campgrounds on the weekend. The proximity to the road is a turnoff for us as it destroys the peace, serenity, and seclusion that can be gained through a short backpack trip or a visit to one of the more secluded CG's along Mirror Lake Hwy.

This site isn't without its perks though as during early summer when its not insanely hot and dry as it was this last year you can find ample raspberry bushes throughout the campground and close to the Provo River which is a very short <5 minute walk from most of the campsites. Camping here is a little steep especially if you're used to free sites. It is $21 a night which doesn't include the mandatory Mirror Lake Hwy Recreation Pass which is $6 for 3 days and $12 for the week. If you have an America the Beautiful Interagency Pass this will cover the recreation pass but not the camping fee.
