Lakeside sites with electric and water hookups, room for large rigs, and direct access to the shore define the experience at South Eden Campground inside Bear Lake State Park. The campground runs along the eastern edge of Bear Lake, where sites sit close enough to the water that unobstructed views of the lake are common. The beach here is rocky with scattered patches of sand, so campers who arrive expecting a sandy shoreline should plan accordingly.
Sites are spacious and level, well-suited to RVs up to 35 feet, and each comes with electric (15, 30, and 50 amp available) and water hookups. Sewer connections are not available at individual sites. The campground stays relatively uncrowded outside of peak summer weekends, and fall visits in October have drawn repeat visitors who note the presence of deer near the sites. Venessa C. describes the sites as "huge and well maintained," which aligns with what multiple reviewers have observed about the overall upkeep.
The shallow entry into the lake makes it accessible for kids and paddlers alike, and the water is calm enough for stand-up paddleboarding. Fishing is available from the shoreline. Rainbow Cove Campground is a nearby alternative within the same state park for those who want to compare sites before booking. Reservations are available, and at $30 per night with full hookups minus sewer, South Eden is worth a look for RV travelers wanting direct lake access on Utah's northeastern edge.

Brilliantly blue waters combined with sandy beaches are what call park visitors to play, fish, boat, and camp here at Bear Lake State Park. Minerals (calcium carbonate) suspended in the lake’s waters are what help create its spectacular aqua-blue color.
Located in the beautiful Bear Lake Valley in Rich County, there are three distinct recreation areas: Marina, Rendezvous Beach, and the Eastside, which offer a variety of recreational opportunities. Whether you plan on spending a day, weekend, or more, Bear Lake offers some of the best picnicking, camping, boating, fishing, or hiking that you will find in the great state of Utah.
