Closest campground to Kanarraville Falls
We chose this place because of its proximity to the Kanarraville Falls trailhead (it is less than a half-mile away) but although it is advertised as an RV park and campground and there is a small grassy area for tents, it really is just an RV park, with a good percentage of full-time residents. Our van fit in between the big rigs but there is zero privacy between sites. Since we live out of our van and not in it, this was not optimal for us, however, there are two equipped communal patios. The first night of our stay it was too windy to cook outside, so we made a quick meal inside on our induction cooktop. The second night was much more pleasant, so we were able to bring our camp stove to the patio, cook and eat dinner. We were able to do dishes the next day in the office, which has a sink.
Office hours are 11 am– 5:30 pm. Making a reservation and getting in touch with Gail during or outside of office hours was always very easy. Although the town of Kanarraville is very small, Red Ledge is located right on Main Street, and you will hear road noise.
The restrooms and showers are clean, as was the laundry room. All have codes to get into them. The price to do a load of laundry was very reasonable ($1.25 for wash and $1.00 per dryer cycle). The shower had nice hot water and good water pressure, which was welcome after our hike to the falls, the reason we stayed here. You should definitely put this hike on your list but make sure you purchase a permit in advance as they sell out most days.
Overall, this place is better for fully contained RVs but having the patio areas and the proximity to the trailhead made it work out well for us.

Good Overnighter
This is a crowded campground with many full time rv’ers. Friendly staff. Waterfall nearby. Good facilities.
A little cramped for big rigs
Small well kept park with a friendly owner who tries to accommodate. A bit snug in our pull through spot. Fortunately, we didn’t need to put out the awning. Not a deal breaker for a one night stay.
