Tight back in overflow parking

Challenging back-in for our 30’ ft travel trailer. Very cramped spot. Fortunately, we arrived before neighbors on oth side did. Neighbor on the right side was kind enough to put his awning in making our morning departure easier. Didn’t want to risk damaging it.

WiFi wasn’t very good. Unable to stream anything. Kept dropping out.

Location very convenient to shopping and restaurants however. Rates reasonable and staff friendly.

A little cramped for big rigs

Small well kept park with a friendly owner who tries to accommodate. A bit snug in our pull through spot. Fortunately, we didn’t need to put out the awning. Not a deal breaker for a one night stay.

A gem

Well maintained campground with a super friendly staff. Clean facility: showers (good water pressure) and bathrooms. Reasonably priced laundromat. We were escorted to our gravel pull through site # 6

Liked it better than we thought we would

No cell service and you’ll definitely have road noise during the day. However, it quieted substantially for nighttime sleeping hours so we slept fine. There are nice campsites located beside the Little Truckee River if you’re lucky enough to get one. Easy hiking trail along the river takes you down to lower Little Truckee Campground. We enjoyed our 2 night stay.

Nice and convenient to town

First time taking our 30’ travel trailer out. Selected Patagonia because it’s close to home base and there was dispersed camping available. Traveled on a weekday and arrived early. Found a site tucked back enough from the road so road noise wasn’t a issue. After we unhooked we explored further down the road. Hook a right and drive all the way to the mine entrance. You’ll pass numerous campsites along both sides of the road to pick from. Total dry camping but wooded and peaceful. We enjoyed hiking and exploring the charming town of Patagonia. Returning on Saturday we noticed lots of traffic headed to Patagonia (boats, off road vehicles, rvs, etc). Patagonia is popular with Tucson residents for recreation.

We visited again in April and stayed in a larger site on the road closer to the mine entrance. Liked our larger site an had it to ourselves for a night. During a hike went up a well worn path to discover an area campers had been using as their bathroom. Lots of wipes with rocks placed on top. Yuck! Later a big group of campers arrived pulling a pop up. The next morning we saw some of them trooping up the hill to the “bathroom” spot. Not much to say except pack it out people or dig a hole and bury.

Looked it over and canceled

Stayed at Prosser Campground for 4 nights and couldn’t get 4 more reserved. Granite Flats had availability so we reserved our site online. Drove over to check it out and canceled. No way our 30’ travel trailer would fit in the site and super close to another site. Charged $18 cancellation fee for a site we couldn’t fit into in spite web site information. Glad we were able to check it out ahead of time. Be prepared for a lot of road noise and close sites. Access road not very good and other entrance gate locked. If you can get a site near the river you might be happy.

Small Wooded Gem

What a gem! Beautiful tall pine trees and spacious sites. Most are back in style with picnic table and fire ring. Super nice camp hosts (shout out to Bill and Sharon). Very quiet, we slept well and would return if traveling this way again. A few sites have distant view of the lake. Most sites are at least partly shaded by tall trees. Pine cones and pine scent was lovely. No water unfortunately a pipe was broken. Hosts directed us to a nearby NF campground to get water.

Nice and tidy

Arrived to find another guy’s rv blocking most of the entrance. My husband helped him back his huge rig in so we could enter. Envelope waiting with our assigned site. No staff contact was needed. We were able to settle into the reserved pull through site. Sites felt a bit tight/close and lack of any trees felt a bit sad. Good bit of constant road noise but felt very safe there. Convenient to everything and fine for a nights stay with full hookups. Exterior was very tidy. Didn’t use any of the indoor facilities.

Fantastic lake view from campground

Vault toilets, trash container, covered picnic tables and nice view of Walker Lake. As per other reviews, there are three levels at this campground. We selected a site at the top for the amazing view and nice breezes. A bit less breezy and more buggy in lower campsites closer to water. It was Memorial Day weekend but the place was only about 20% full. Boaters and families playing at the lower level had the place almost to their selves. Glad we stayed at the top away from the generator noise below. You will definitely have road noise but not a deal breaker for us. Price was right especially with our pass. Select 2nd and 3rd levels if winds are high.

Basic but has the essentials

We enjoyed our stay here. TJ does a good job taking care of the place. Our site was a pull in (most welcome) and partially shaded by mature trees. Felt less like “parking lot” style camping. Used the laundry facility - $2.75 took care of washing and drying a medium size load. Pleased at the price as I was prepared to spend a lot more drying clothes. Right by the road so you do have road noise. Walking distance to the Happy Burro where we had a cold beer and chatted with some friendly locals. Burros visited campground both nights we were there. Walking distance to a small casino (you can get gas, ice, candy, ice cream, Subway). Convenient to Death Valley NP and the ghost town of Rhyolite.
