Description

Utah State Department of State Parks

Yuba State Park

Yuba State Park got its name from the individuals who built the dam. Local farmers and ranchers had to build the dam themselves or risk losing their water rights. The men working on the structure called it the U.B. Dam. As they worked they sang a song that stated they were damned if they worked and damned if they didn't. The phonetic sound of the reservoirs name was eventually spelled Yuba.

Pricey, but well kept

We aren’t typically pay to stay travelers. However, the day ran late and this option was closest. Best to make reservations online but we made them at the entrance with envelope/cash. Be aware entry gates close at 10pm. Non powered sites are close together but no one here so it was good for us. Powered sites also available. Our early season mid week timing were quiet, but looks like this can get busy during high season. Beautiful lake side & mountain views. Also water and dumps stations available. Verizon works well.

Clean and quiet

This campground is really clean and quiet. There’s room for tents and also it has many RV sites with electric, water and sewer. We were there in late September and the lake was very dry down to the creek bed. We saw many deer and jackrabbits. We would definitely stay there again. It is a developed campground.

Oasis

Beautiful spot to stop on our route. The day we arrived was very windy. The view is serene and it’s very quiet. There are showers and bathrooms. Most campsites have water and electric and there are tent sites with great views of the lake. They have a couple cabins and on site kayak rentals.
