Driving Harris Wash Road far enough to reach this free dispersed site means passing easier pulloffs closer to the highway, and the road gets rougher past this point, requiring higher clearance and possibly four-wheel drive. The site itself is fairly level, has a small fire ring, and fits a small group without feeling cramped. Shade arrives from surrounding hills in the evening, but the spot is otherwise exposed. Campers looking for campgrounds around Escalante will find this one draws fewer visitors the farther down the road they go. RVs are limited to 25 feet, and washouts make the road unsuitable for larger rigs. It suits self-sufficient campers comfortable with remote, dry-country conditions.

Prime spot!

This spot is elite! We scoped out early along Harris wash rd, too exposed for our liking. A little further along there is a very small tirn off that is an opinion but this spot is just a but further and easy better. We did end up driving to the very end of Harris wash but after this site, the rd gets rough. You'll want higher clearance and maybe 4wd. This spot is neat. You could fit a small group- maybe 3 families if you all really like each other. It felt like camping on Mars. The hills offered some shade in the evening but otherwise pretty exposed. Not too many folks came down the road this far so it was very peaceful. In other reviews you'll see people camping along red canyons. That's at the very end of Harris wash rd. Not here. Ground is fairly level. Little fire pit.
