Beautiful location

Ticked in the trees just below Daniels summit this is a great campground. Amenities at the summit and tons of hiking out your back door.

Very Clean

Campground was sooo amazing! Bathrooms were nice for what they are. Stayed at the double site and it was plenty big. Would have given 5 stars but it is close to the road and is very loud.

Nice sites, but road noise

Very nice, well spaced and level campsites in heavy pine and aspen forest. 34 paved sites with tables and fire pits. One very clean pit toilet. Ideal except for road noise.

Camping in aspens

This is a great little campground the hosts were super friendly and helpful. The site was level and had a great flat slab, table and fire pit. This campground is very well maintained. The only downside is some traffic noise from Hwy 40. Nice clean restrooms but be aware they don’t have lights.

Nice

Found a nice FF site for our 30 foot pull trailer. Really clean bathrooms. The camp host was friendly and helpful. Nice place to cruise around on the mountain bike. Only downer is the highway noise.

Campground in the Aspens

Very nice campground in a mix of lodgepole and aspen trees. 35 sites..so itme are reserveable (1-22)..but #23-35 are FF. As of this review the water system was not working so no water, the flush toilet restrooms are not available but a new vault toilet was recently installed. and no access to the RV dump either. Hopefully this is a temp issue. Some hwy noise from #191. Sites are designed for trailers and RVs and a 4-5 sites are pull thru. $18 nite/$10 senior. Cell service good on ATT but not so good on Verizon (extended network.

Lodgepole along Daniel's Creek

We stayed 1 night on our way to DNM. No hookups but a few pull through sites for RVs. We didn't have reservations but found 2 pull through RV sites right away. The rest of the open sites filled up before dark. If it's summer and you're trying to get in without a reservation come as close to check in as possible. In summer of 2020 the bathrooms were closed due to Covid but they had porta potties out (they were clean-ish). We enjoyed jogging the various loops for our morning workout.

Loved it

Any place in the Unitas is a great place for camping in my opinion. Great fishing, hiking and paddle boarding. Just a little cold usually

Lodgepole Campground - Group Site B

Nice basic campground just coming out of Heber City, UT on your way to Strawberry Reservoir. This is a fairly large campground with numerous sites. The group site parking was shallow. We could barely fit our 19 ft travel trailer and our truck. Outside of the group site it appears there are deeper sites that could accommodate a long fifth wheel. Parking space is wide enough to park another car next to trailer. There are a few tent sites as around the group site pavilion.

No hookups for RV’s. Dump station on site for $10 fee. RV spots are back in only. There is running water and flushable toilets on site; however, the water line was under repair and not turned on during our stay. It sounds like the repairs have been going on for a long time.

There is cellular service, but it’s a little slow. I have sprint carrier and had service.

Negatives: The campground is close a highway incline/decline which is frequented by Semi’s which bring lots of noise to the campground throughout the day and into the night.

Stinging Nettle: lots of stinging nettle located around group site B, so stay on the paths as much as possible.

Beautiful but too close to highway

This was a beautiful camp ground. It was clean and the camp host was very friendly. We arrived on opening day so the water was not on yet and they setup portapotties because the bathrooms were closed. You can hear the trucks on the highway. There is a fun 4 mile trail that starts and ends in the campground.

Traffic noise

This camp was on day 17 of an 18 day road trip. After a couple of weeks you know what you like. I itial impression was very good. Almost empty, nice clean sites that were seperated enough to feel pretty alone. While setting up camp my wife came back and told me the restrooms were locked and the water was off, but there was an almost full porta potty. That pissed me off, because we chose it based in large part on the water. Now I had to locate and filter water. Had I know there was no water i would have brought it from town.
Later I began to notice the traffic noise. Semi trucks on a steep highway. This went on all night. It is a nice CG, but I would go back because of the constant truck noise.

Lodgepole at Flaming Gorge

Lodgepole is a fantastic site. While it was out of the Flaming Gorge area, it was close enough to get to many of the southern features of the reservoir. From what I saw each site was large enough for a RV or camper trailer and had a large level area for a tent. There was a RV dump on site for $6. We took a camp trailer, so I did not check out the restroom on site, but there is one advertised. One thing I did not like was how close the sites were together. We could hear rowdy children in the site next to us clearly while outside of our trailer. Other than that, this place was a gem.

Start of a journey

This is a great place to get ready for a float or hike down the green river. After a long backcountry trip I was treated with smiles, a warm cabin and hot food. During the journey down the river I was taken by amazing scenery and wildlife. A nice relaxing getaway for anyone!
