Safe port in a storm!
This park was recommended by another camper as well as seeing it on Dyrt. Super nice staff who actually helped us stay longer due to a dangerous ice storm. Exceptional laundry facilities and a very clean park.
Clean campground in a great location
Love Alpine with its street art, food trucks, quaint downtown and history. Hiking up to see the desk on the grounds surrounding the Sul Ross campus is just one fun excursion. Also, the Big Bend Museum and Kokernot Field.
The campground is set on the outskirts of Alpine and has pine trees around it. Unfortunately most sites that I saw don’t have much, if any, shade. That being said, there are lots of plusses for this campground. The staff is great, the site I was in was level and had full hook ups, the campground laundry is excellent and there’s also a community recreation room.
Good rates for a nice stopover in a great location in Big Bend country with a pet park, gift shop, pool/playground and cabins.

Outstanding place to stay!
Clean facilities. Easy to navigate. Friendly management and super fast WiFi! The swimming pool was a delight on a hot summer day.
Nice sites, Amenities could be improved
Nice clean sites that are spacious and not on top of your neighbor.
Location is good for visiting the area if you need to be connected - wifi was good enough close to the office and cell service was also good enough. Since going any closer to Big Bend means you drop off completely, this was a must for us. That said, it’s a solid 1.5+ hour drive to the park.
Laundry was adequate with 6 washers and dryers. Took two rounds in dryer for each load. I think $1 for wash and $1.50 to dry.
Playground was ok… had seen better days and was a little lopsided. Pool was closed and we were sad to not know this ahead of time.
Better Than Most RV Parks
I stayed here for two nights during the Texas snow and deep freeze of Feb. 14 to 16, 2021. It was comfortable to be in the company of so many as the park was packed, RV Parks are not my thing so I left on snow covered roads (no snow plows in TX) and drove 80 miles south. The manager called me a few hours after I left sounding in disbelief and to confirm that I had relinquished my spot. I’m from Maine. We have winter and snow covered roads are normal.
ThIS RV Park has all the amenities of a KOA including friendly service, nice dog walk and play area, clean bathroom, and laundry, and spotless grounds beneath the pines. The end of row sites cost an additional $10, but my dogs enjoyed the bonus of a large, private grassy area and a couple of shade trees offered on site A20.
Great location, nice sites
All and all a great place to stay. Close to town yet still quite, you can see some amazing sunsets on the far end of the camp. Very well managed camp, only complaint I would have is the internet is somewhat intermittent but only a issue if you need it!
Lost Alaskan RV Park, TX
Nice park. Water, electric, sewer, dump station, Verizon cell service, showers, flush toilets, very clean, TV cable, WiFi, monthly rates, Good Sam and Escapees discounts. We needed a small amount of propane to top off our tanks and were charged their flat fee of $40.

I’d come back
Great covered tent sites. Cooled off at night. Clean pool and bathroom/showers.
Good Choice in Alpine
We were on our way to Big Bend National Park and it's really out of the way! Alpine was a good place to spend the night before heading to the park. We were able to get into the Lost Alaskan with a day's notice and had a nice pull through site on the end of the row. The park had a friendly staff, clean laundry, and a nice bathroom. We will return to this park the next time we head towards Big Bend!
Love love love
Love this place. Nice everything. No online reservations so go old school, pick up the phone and call them.
